This portable hood is amazing, it works so good! I've lived in an apartment with a no hood fan for 4 straight years, and this little guy has made my life so much better!

Seriously, it's replacing a system of carefully arranged small fans that were never very efficient at moving cooking smells out of my house. I love the smell of bacon, but not for 3 days after I made it!

I just wish I'd found it sooner, there have been so many foods I've gone without over the years, because they weren't worth the smell.

This fan is powerful and sturdy, and I think it works better than most full-size built-in fans I've used. It seriously moves the air around, it's pretty impressive, especially considering how small and portable it is.

It feels like it will last years, and it's already made a huge impact on my quality of life. No one should ever realize, at work, meeting a new client, that they somehow smell like a meatloaf they made two days prior! That will never happen with this little powerhouse around, not any more.

The instructions were clear and it's easy to use. I keep it out because I use it constantly, but if I did need to stow it away it wouldn't be a hassle, even in my tiny apartment. It easily fits in a small drawer.

This is an efficient product that is made to last and I highly highly recommend it. I've already used it for a bunch of non-kitchen projects, it worked so good when I painted, and sped up drying when I shampooed carpets. This thing is strong and super handy!

I ordered this portable vent to solve a specific problem. I have a vent hood over the stove, and it works to suck smoke and steam, although it's very loud. The problem is that when I use the oven hood vent, steam causes water to collect there, and on the microwave above it, which then drips into whatever you're cooking. It doesn't matter how well or how many times I clean the hood/microwave, that will always be unacceptably gross.

Enter the portable vent! I can put this next to a boiling pot, and while it doesn't quite catch all the steam, it catches enough to keep it from gathering on the hood and microwave, and even on the highest setting it's much quieter than my hood vent. I consider this a big win!

I also love that this has washable filters and even comes with an extra, so I won't have to be buying anything else later. I like the little built-in catch cup for water and oil. Disassembly of the filters for cleaning is also very easy. Those features make cleaning it a breeze. Seems to be a quality product.

I knocked off a star because it is a bit clunky, and leaves something to be desired when trying to filter smoke and odors. It's obviously way better than nothing, but don't expect it to get it all. By clunky, I mean that moving it around causes its head to drop like it's drunk, and/or the head to extend, so it'll need to be adjusted again with each move. Not a big deal at all, but a little annoying.

Again, I got it for the specific job of keeping steam off my hood and microwave, and if that's your problem too, here's your solution!

This fan is not bad, could be good if you have no alternative, the filter doesnt seem so robust but I guess I was thinking it would get rid of odors a bit more. its more for oily smoke I believe. I got this to supplement a weak fan above the stove. the device is a bit larger than I thought it would be. Does come with an extra filter screen.

first off, the size of this portable vent is most certainly not what i expected, in a good way. You read descriptive words and phrases such as portable, travel friendly, flexibility, installation free, convenience and your minds eye envisions something small, pocket sized, tyco toy like dimensions, right? well thats not the case here. YES it is portable yes it is travel friendly and the such but it is also a tiny beast of a fan that does not take its purpose lightly. this fan means short stout business. standing at about a foot tall, its mostly fan bulk over body, it comes ready to use right out of the box, simply plug it in and determine what speed you want, hurricane or typhoon. and if you are assuming moving hefty amounts of air = equally hefty noise - Wrong again. its is relatively quite for the volume of air this mighty mouse exhaust can move about. the possibly only one disappointment is, its not wireless - i does require being plugged in. But thats the only not so inconvenient inconvenience. after all if it were battery powered i dont think they would be able to maintain its minimal dimensions with a battery size necessary for the amount of power it would take to operate it . if you are in the market for a portable exhaust, your search just ended. 100% recommended

I wanted a little vent to help pull the smoke from my moble smoker out thw window of my apartment..and its working pretty well. Its rather large and makes a fare amount of noise, but it does pull and mostly clean the smoke coming out of the smoker. I also tried this with my airfryer and its a much better match for this. I covered aomething qith seasoning and the fan blew it atright out thw back but the littlw hood vwnt grabed all of it. Non went onto the glass behind it. I wish it would remove odwr better, other than that it works great, might be a bit expensive tho.
It's a pretty specific item for most people but i can think of old apartmwnts who stoves had a rather usless vent and poor ventalation, and for that it would be great. Littlw less so when pullong smoke from a smoker that vents on two spots, it just need a strongwr fan.
