I bought this expecting to be disappointed but it worked great for me, yeas it could have been a little more glitzy perhaps and the buttons you press feel a little cheap. But it brings up the photographic slides my grandfather and father took when I was still a twinkle, I can take a picture with it and then send back to my parents to see again in full glory. Now some of the slides emulsion has suffered but you do what you can. I also tried some old 35mm negatives I had in a box and they worked perfectly. It does take a little bit of getting used to and it doesn't like the memory card being removed and put back in to continue so leave it alone and connect to your computer via a usb lead.

I even came across some old film slides that were square, think 126 or 120 cannot remember, but this unit actually can be set for this size. I was very impressed, way more that I expected. I'm keeping ti because when I go back to my parents I will take all the old negatives they have back with me to scans those as well.

Worth the money and it did what it said on the box.

This replaced a negative scanner I had for years but gave up in frustration as it was extremely difficult to use with a small screen. The scanner has a large screen to see what you're scanning, the selection process is easy and intuitive and the scanning itself is very fast. I scanned about 6 rolls of film from a trip to Turkey taken in 1993 and it allowed me to find the negative I wanted quickly. A must have to go with the scanner is a sd card as it makes the process of transferring to a computer easy - it labels each photo scanned with IMG01, 02 etc., which, if you save to a sd card and do all the scanning for a particular roll of film or rolls of film, allows you to send it as a group and you can rename the files all at once. I would then recommend (after saving to the computer) deleting the photos on the card for the next project.
The scanner comes with an instruction manual, but it's easy enough to use without it.

Although small and simple, this device delivers on its promise. I scanned slides from the 1960s and they came out great! images look very good on a large TV. It's easy to use but a little time consuming as it's manual, although the actual scanning is fast. Being able to push one slide after the next creates a good workflow. Scans look surprisingly good with a little image enhancement on a computer. I would have given it 5 stars except for the time involved (1.5 hours to scan and correct on a computer the first batch of 35 slides), but it's still worth it. Easy and inexpensive way to digitize those deteriorating memories.

Product appears to be used. Outer box, not taped closed- can see where tape was removed. Everything inside box not in its packaging material. Sold as new. Sent back. Received new scanner in two days. This one everything was sealed. Works as advertised. So far, I’ve been able to scan nearly 1k of slides with 0 issues.

I have never scanned film before. After reading many reviews I decided to order this one and I'm happy I did. The instructions are clear and easy for my old eyes to read.
I scanned some black and white negatives and the results met my expectations.
I have negatives from years gone by to scan next.

It works great. Trial and error for the fastest way to scan slides. I put the slide holder into the device and then start sliding slides into it rather then taking device out to reload. Some pictures are adjustable for color and background light. I can sit anywhere that has a plug-in to scan my slides.

It simply didn't work. When the icon was set to "slide" and you hit OK to indicate you wanted to scan a slide, the screen advanced to the next icon which was for scanning film. I never could get it to stay on slide when I hit OK. Also the slide frame holder didn't actual hold the slide in place. I had to put the slide in several times before I realized unless you did so, the slide would change positions in the holder.
No protective packing material whatsoever in the package except the manufacturer's box and slight packing materials. It was shipped in a plastic bag and nothing else. Maybe this why it didn't work. It got beat up on its way here?
