5.0 out of 5 stars Works well

This is going to be super fun for my cousin’s daughter. My son has a similar one that is fun & works well enough, giving magnification to allllll the things he has tried his on. This one is cute with the unicorn theme top. Perfect size for a 4+ year old (I’m sure it would be fine for younger kids too) & has so much educational value as far as further/closer investigation.
Super happy with this handheld microscope/magnifier.

4.0 out of 5 stars This Microscope Is Freaking Cool!
Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2024
I actually had no idea how this thing worked or what to expect, but I thought it would be fun for my kids and my curiosity got the better of me, so I ordered it.

The first thing I will say is the instructions weren't the greatest, but it's pretty easy to figure out. And it wasn't long before my children and I started using it on EVERYTHING.

It's essentially an old school digital camera with SUPER zoom; you can even store pictures if you insert an SD card. You just power it up, place it on top of whatever you want to magnify, and it shows up on the screen.

The only thing that was kind of a pain is getting whatever you want to magnify in the correct spot as it can be finicky. But otherwise, it's still a cool gadget. My first picture is the fibers on my daughter's blanket and the second is print from the instructions! THAT'S how much it can magnify!

5.0 out of 5 stars Detailed Exploration
Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2024
I started messing with it before I read the directions and thought it wasn't working properly. I then realized, what I thought was a hand grip was actually how you focus the microscope. The button on the left changes the magnification strength. Large, clear detailed screen. The kids can take a picture and save it in the microscope or move it to an SD card, not included. There is a lanyard that can be detached by pushing the button and releasing the ring. The Unicorn face is a protective silicone ring around the screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great microscope.
Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2024
This is super handy. Great video quality on the screen, and the lens is easy to adjust and get focus. This is much better than the type of microscope without a screen, especially for kids who might have a hard time holding a microscope lens at the correct distance. The buttons are straightforward, and the menu is easy to navigate. I have no complaints. Great little toy to help the kids with homeschooling and inspiration for learning.

I would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great STEM Microscope
Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2024
This is a great and fun learning toy for kids. It is made of pliable silicon. There is a removable animal surround on the top of the microscope. There is a lanyard so the microscope can be worn around the neck. The microscope has from 100x to 1000x magnification. To add to the fun you can take up to 100 pictures without an SD card. You can add an SD card to take even more pictures and see them on a computer. It comes with a charging cable. A terrific present for any child.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good concept but not as advertised
Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2024
I was very excited for this when I saw it because I could show my child all kinds of fun things, I thought. It was 1000x magnification, how marvelous!
When the handheld microscope arrived, I plugged it in and charged it per the instructions. When it was ready to turn on, I was saddened to see it only did 4x magnification and it even with the focus, things looked out of focus. It is such a cool concept but poor execution.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too hard to really see anything
Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2024
This is a great concept but when I tested it, I found it really difficult to see anything with any clarity. You literally have to have it right on the object to see it and even then it is not easy to get it to come in very clear. I think my grandkids will give up on it pretty quickly. It looked like you would be able to see bugs and things that move as well as stationary objects but unless you put it right on the bug and pin it down, you can't see it. That said, if you ARE able to focus in on a blade of grass or skin for example, it is pretty cool.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice idea. Frustrated a 65 year old. Not sure about 3+ years.
Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2024
The pictures show small children using this scope hovered over objects. I couldn't get anything to focus unless the clear base was down solid on a surface. Maybe I'm just too old to figure it out, but it didn't come across as simple and straightforward to me. Mostly puzzled, partially disappointed. Maybe I need to find a child to show me how to do it.
