    I'm a handyman. I've got 5 tape measures. This is by far the best because of the automatic lock and the base plate release. It's totally intuitive. It's in my device hall of Fame along with my new Dremel.

    No breaks in the tape length, as in the tape itself has held up without snaps or cracks. Readability is great. Rigid over long distances. I can measure the fascia of a building 12 ft in the air without the tape bending and falling on itself. The lever release allows the user to measure large objects without a second person, and the lever release is very strong and doesn’t release or pull tape when unwanted

    This 25 ft CRAFTSMAN tape measure is excellent! It’s sturdy, well-built, and the retraction control and self-lock features work seamlessly.     I have had a good quality tape measure for many years - still works, but it got legs! LOL - so I was a bit leery of getting a new one to replace it - but this is a very high quality tape measure and locks into place nicely, retracts as it should, and I like the clear markings - and the dual feature of running the 12 inches alongside the various feet markings, so you can easily determine so many feet + inches!!! No counting or calculating! I use this for many applications - but mostly for sewing! A nice little tape measure for great value - works as it should - Rubber feature also nice to keep it from sliding!

    I haven’t had a proper measuring tape since I was a kid living at home lol. I’ve been using this soft measuring tape that’s meant for clothes measurements for years and just got tired of it’s limitations when moving and trying to figure out what fits where. This thing is great! Solidly built, seems quality on initial inspection. I also didn’t even realize it was self stopping. When you pull the tab it’ll stop whenever you stop pulling, and the release button is the entire bottom of it, just press the bottom and it will *slowly* return to its chamber. The self stopping and the slow retraction were not expected but are certainly welcome. Definitely would recommend the “new” version vs the “old” the design improvement compared to the classical version is definitely worth it for a $1
