The magnetic thing served its purpose well - it got my attention. But it is extremely unresponsive and not useful for anything other than a party demo.
Adjusting the burners is ‘fine’ - I like being able to directly set the level, but I would also like some simple ‘up/down’ buttons to nudge things when I need to. It has some silly presets like ‘simmer’ which would be much better if they were just +/- buttons.
Lastly… this thing has six (6!) power buttons. The correct number is zero. When you turn a burner ‘on’ it is at level 0. So why the bleep not just have that be the position and let us set it immediately without the interstitial on/off thing? Oh - and the global on button is REALLY annoying - you have to hold it down for a second before anything happens. First cooktop I have ever had with a global ‘push this first or nothing happens!’ button.
But anyway, other than ergonomic irritation, it works well. Much quieter than our prior GE unit, and I really like the griddle thing - it not only allows meshing all 4 ‘panels’ on the left, but if you have something small it will work with only a single one active which is neat. Overall I am happy with the purchase.
