5.0 out of 5 stars good fit 40/36

I bought 40W/36L one size up from my Carhartt canvass work jeans at 38/34. The paper Label on the suspenders and Carhartt sizeing recommend buying your pant size, but I'm confident that would have been too small or tight for my farming life style.
I'm 6'4" 230lb, no gutt and they fit good with wearing thin Long Johns plus light underwear underneath, as they aren't insulated. They do run a little long so I could have gotten 34L. I'll machine wash in cold water and sun hang dry when possible to avoid shrinking. I don't like tight clothes as they hamper my active and physical work movements.
The brass suspender clasps are a little hard to clasp but I think with gentle filing or sanding they'll work better. Other than that, they look of Carhartt quality and Amazon's price and fast free delivery
was the best. Next week we'll be cuttin and bucking two beetle riddled 100+ft. pines and that will be a test of my 1st Mexican made Carhartt.
My US made Carhartt Artic Traditional Coat is a XXLT as my chest measures 50" over undergarments. It's now 10 yrs old and I've washed it many times and it's still in good condition and very warm. I do recommend Carhartt work wear.

If you want quality then go with the name brands. These overalls fit great and feel top tier.

You can definitely feel the quality and ruggedness of the material.

This style flatters all types of usage whether for swag or for work use.

Size is a little bigger than advertised so buy a couple sizes lower.

I am a comfy 32x28 but I ordered 30x28 and the fitment is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fit. Breathable and tough. Stretchy in the right spots.

I’m 6’-2”, 240#. Got some of these for some rural brush clearing I’m doing. They’re great. Have buttons on the side for some extra space, but also that area has a stretch webbing…so while the pair I got is somewhat fitted, it does move and stretch. Turns out having a more fitted overall is great because bits don’t get snagged on branches, etc as I’m trying to squeeze by. Plenty of pockets, including at the waist. Zipper at crotch, so you don’t have to fully remove them…

Thick, but breathable, cotton material. I sweat in them, but it doesn’t feel like I’m in a plastic bag. Plus, being overalls, no bugs or wood chips get at my lower back because my shirt rode up. They’re like cotton ski pants. I’m all sealed up.

The fit is the same as jeans size, so that’s simple.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality but are LONG!

These overalls are good quality, sturdy and fit well, but beware that they are not made for short guys! I had to sew the straps shorter and take off a good 4 inches or so from the legs. They have lots of pockets and the front pocket is huge. Should be great for landscaping work. I'm 5'6, 180lb and ordered a 36x30.

Carhart’s name is synonymous with quality and durability and these were no different. HOWEVER that’s where my interest in a second purchase ends. The duck fabric was very thick and very nice but the pockets were in odd places and the two front pant pockets hopelessly shallow. Things can easily fall out. The fit was spot on in the waist but I suggest ordering slightly longer for the inseam. Mine shrank to an almost comical length and I haven’t worn them since the first wash. I would return them but since I already washed and wore I figured that idea was out. I really liked the elastic shoulder straps very much, BUT if there is only one reason I won’t buy these again is the clips to attach to the bib. They feel thin and cheap and are very frustrating to attach and release. Was very excited to try my first pair of Carharts and was left feeling slightly nonplussed. I’ll stick with my less expensive, better fit and finish, and more utilitarian “Dickies” for overalls. I do however love most all of the other things in the carhart family and will still be a loyal consumer for everything else.

I like these overalls. They’re perfect for any day of hard work. Plenty of pockets to keep a man’s tools quick at hand. I bought them a little larger than my size to make sure they had ample room for the movements required for a good days work. But wound up a little bit too long. I just fold the lower leg collar up and they’re perfect!

5.0 out of 5 stars They live up to the brand

I had always heard that carhartt brand made great quality clothing that you could wear for years and years. I bought these overalls after trying another brand (not going to name the brand but i should have went with these from the get go) and these just fit so much better. The waste has a bit of elastic to the sides where you button them up which is appreciated as it lets you move a bit more freely. They do weigh a bit more than the other pair i bought but after seeing the quality of the fabric and stitching, i am glad. These wear really well and i have noticed that the "breaking in period" that carhartt is kind of known for is really not that bad. I will definitely get these again. The only advice i can say for people is i find the length to be the only issue with overalls, they are always too long in the leg for me so think about maybe getting a size smaller than what you wear in jeans for the inseam... the waste size is spot on though.
