The flexibility and non-stick nature of silicone make the process seamless and mess-free, significantly simplifying the bread-making process.

    The silicone material is generally praised for its heat resistance and durability in kitchen applications. However, it's important to note that while silicone can withstand a variety of temperatures, it typically has a melting point around 500°F (260°C). This is generally below the maximum temperature of most household ovens, which can reach up to 550°F (288°C). Therefore, while using this silicone sling, it's crucial to be mindful of your oven's settings to avoid any risk of melting the product.

    This limitation is somewhat significant because many bread recipes, especially those involving pre-heated Dutch ovens, recommend baking temperatures that can flirt with or exceed the upper limits of the sling's heat tolerance. Ours discolored a bit because of this. As such, it's essential to adjust your baking method accordingly or ensure that the oven temperature is safely within the silicone's heat-resistant range.

    If you're like me and you are using parchment paper for your bread, just buy these. They are SO helpful, and reusable. They make the breadmaking process so much easier. Especially when I discovered that SOME parchment paper (like the stuff I bought at Winco) sticks to my bread in the oven - what a nightmare! I love these silicon bread slings. They're really easy to clean and I think they even give me a better bake on the bottom crust of my bread. Just buy them. They'll save you $$ on that costco pack of parchment paper.

    My wife and I used these for the first time recently, while baking a few loaves of sourdough bread, and they are super helpful. I dumped the bread dough right out of the banneton onto the sling, and then used the sling to put the dough into the Dutch oven.

    When the bread was finished cooking, it was just as easy to lift the loaf out of the Dutch oven with the sling.

    This was so much easier than trying to handle to uncooked bread loaf by hand.
