    I've been using this ghee from 4th & Heart for a couple of months, and it's become a game-changer in my kitchen. As someone who enjoys cooking a variety of dishes, I've found this ghee to be an exceptional substitute for butter and cooking oil. Whether frying steak, pork, burgers, or chicken in a sauté pan or scrambling eggs, this ghee delivers excellent results without the downside of burning quickly like butter or leaving an oily residue like olive oil.

    The Himalayan Pink Salt version of this ghee has been a delightful revelation. It significantly enhances the flavor of the food, offering a delicious clarified butter taste that’s hard to resist. Its higher smoking point means I can cook at higher temperatures without worrying about burning, making it a more versatile option in my cooking repertoire.

    Convenience is another major plus. This ghee is spreadable at room temperature and doesn’t require refrigeration, simplifying storage and usage. I’ve found that the 16-ounce container lasts just over a month in my kitchen, fitting perfectly into my daily cooking routine without any storage issues.

    I am relatively new to using ghee, so I am still finding more uses for it. The difference between the original recipe ghee and this version is similar to the difference between salted or unsalted butter. Both have their uses.

    I bought this ghee thinking there was a health benefit as compared to using butter. Since my husband's cholesterol result were so much higher this year than last year. He uses a lot of soft spread butter on toast, English muffins, and bagels that he eats in the morning for breakfast. In comparing the saturated fat and cholesterol levels of this ghee and the butter he uses, the ghee is actually higher in both saturated fats and cholesterol. The soft spread butter contains 30 mg. per tbsp. vs 95 mg in the ghee. My husband likes ghee it better than the organic soft spread butter he has been using because it is softer and melts immediately. He uses less of this ghee than he did the butter because it doesn't come out of the container in chunks which means he is eating less of the bad stuff. Since his cholesterol was too high for his last physical, using less is a good thing.

    Personally, I love this ghee for cooking as it doesn't brown as easily as butter for frying eggs and melts immediately. I also like that the healthier Himalayan pink salt is added rather than added chemical sodium. For recipes that require softened butter, using ghee is so much easier as it stays soft at room temperature. Since the butter fat has been removed, ghee will last up to 3 months without refrigeration.

    Having done my research on ghee, I found that some brands contain unwanted and unhealthy ingredients. This brand does not add any such ingredients. It also uses milk from pasture fed cows and it not GMO. Although I doubt we will stop using butter for some purposes, both my husband and I love this ghee and will continue using it.

    Well I am officially a repeat customer. Himalayan Rock Salt for meats and toast and the garlic one is excellent for veggies. This 4th and Heart brand is some of the best ghee I've had. The taste is rich and it just seems to make things taste better. Zucchini, spinach, pumpernickel toast, any chicken dishes, and the list goes on. Also, the jars they come in are classy and good for reusing. I recommend this stuff.
