    I've been a fan of marinated mushrooms since I was a teenager -- my family would buy these big jars of them. I think the brand was Steinfeld's, but searching the internet, I don't think they make them anymore. So I'd buy Napoleon-brand marinated mushrooms, which were pretty expensive for such a small jar.

    With these, you definitely get a better value; there are loads of large mushrooms in each jar. The problem is that they are pretty sweet -- sugar is pretty high up on the ingredients list, and personally I prefer a more vinegary tang. That didn't stop me from eating a small handful of them, though. Doing so made room for me to add a splash of high-acidity apple cider vinegar to round out the flavor profile, and after letting them sit a bit, the taste is much more palatable -- not so cloyingly sweet. I imagine you could use white or even balsamic vinegar too; I just happened to have apple cider on hand.

    So, bang-for-buck-wise, it's a win. But personally, if you prefer a tangier shroom, you might have to supplement the brine to offset its default sugariness.

    I don't know why whole marinated mushrooms are so difficult to find. My local grocery stores just don't carry them. Walmart has them at about the same price... but they're not always in stock. Getting these delivered means I have less to lug home from shopping.

    These mushrooms are the most versatile and yummy treats I've had in years! I will order again and tell all friends and family to get them too. The juice is awesome salad dressing. Romaine,red onion and mushrooms with juice for dressing. Omelets too.

    They have a very mild or dull flavor, good quantity for the dollar. I enjoy pickled mushrooms as a snack but these were very mild.

    Outrageous price, and they are NOT properly marinated! Only taste like vinegar- no salt, garlic or other seasonings. What a rip-off!

    These pickled mushrooms are the best I have found. They are tart and full of mushroom flavor. They are firm and not at all salty or bitter. Nice and firm as well.
