5.0 out of 5 stars heavy duty

I thought this was much smaller when I ordered it, but it is like the size of a gallon can. It will still work for what I needed just have to install it a little different but it works great for it's purpose. It's heavy material so won't bend or warp easily. I am going to enjoy it for many years and no more gas fumes from my stove! I would recommend it to anyone not having a overhead gas vent. My space is hard to find one to fit, so saw this and ordered it, works great for my stove.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works really nicely, but not powerful enough motor
Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2024
This is a great product, and I'm very happy with its functionality in general. It has helped keep my kitchen, which does not have a proper exhaust fan, nice and clean.

Its compact, portable design is convenient, and it could be used in many different ways. And the filters are pretty generic, but they are good at removing smoke and the like from the air. The one shortcoming in terms of design and functionality that bothers me is the rubber feet have almost no grip. The fan will tend to slowly vibrate its way across my counter -- very, very slowly, but surely. I'm considering adding some rubber stick-on feet to help it stay put.

But my real complaint is that the motor just isn't strong enough. It can pull smoke from only a few inches in front of it, even on the highest settings. This means when it's sitting next to my range, if something on the pan is giving off some smoke, it struggles to pull that smoke away, because the pan is 11 inches in diameter, and the center of the fan is already at the far edge of the range where this fan is pulling the smoke directly in.

Now, it still cleans up the air and helps significantly, but it's not as good as it could be. I'll still use it, and generally it will work okay -- good enough, at least. But it was disappointing to see it, cranked up to highest power, struggling to pull air from across the stovetop.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars, it moves air, just OK at filtration, overpriced at 80

A bit awkward to get assembled and it does not have the range of angle adjustment I was expecting. The arms have to pull so close to the main body it limits a good bit of adjustment range. Oh well, that part isn’t horrible. The rubber feet are not very grippy, but they do work better than nothing.

I was happily surprised that it is not terribly loud even at full power. Of course with the filters in place it adds to the sound output, but that’s sort of required if you want to filter anything. Speaking of the filters, they sort of just sit inside the tube, but there’s not any sort of designed clip or retention setup. It just smashes in there and there are bolts that it sort of slips behind. This ends up leaving some gaps around the edges, so clearly it’s not a perfect filtration setup. Again it’s sort of passable, but not stellar.

With the control knob at minimum setting it won’t even spin the blades at all. With a slight bump up it will start to spin and generates just a three mile per hour breeze while pulling about twenty watts of power. At max power it draws nearly forty watts and generates about a nine mile an hour breeze. This is all without the filter in place. WIth the filter in place and at lowest power it pushes just about two miles per hour breeze still at twenty watts. At max power with a filter it generated just over four mile an hour breeze while pulling forty-two watts. IT is clear the filter reduces the capabilities quite a bit. Of course when it comes to moving air, speed is not always a great measurement of function. I didn’t bother trying to calculate cubic feet per minute of flow though.

As for filtration, it does an OK job. It does reduce smoke and odors to some degree. And it will absorb steam quite well. In all it can be a useful unit, but for eighty bucks it’s overpriced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Efficient Portable Range Hood for Smoke-Free Cooking
Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2024
I recently tried out the Portable Range Hood and it has proven to be a fantastic addition to my kitchen setup. Whether I'm smoking ribs, roasting a large cut of meat, or grilling indoors, this little device does a great job of moving the smoke away from my cooking area, keeping the kitchen air clean and clear.

One of the standout features of this portable range hood is its reusable charcoal filter. The activated carbon in the filter effectively absorbs unpleasant odors, which makes a significant difference during heavy cooking sessions. The fact that it comes with 10 additional charcoal filters that can be rinsed and reused is a real bonus. This makes it a practical choice for regular use without having to constantly buy new filters.

The hood is incredibly easy to operate with its one-button control. You simply twist the button to start the fan and adjust the wind speed to suit your cooking needs. The 120-degree adjustable air intake angle ensures that the hood efficiently handles smoke and steam from different angles. The 50W motor and the 7 in 1 aluminum alloy blade fan provide strong suction, which helps to quickly remove smoke and odors.

The 6-foot power cord is another thoughtful feature, offering flexibility in placement, whether you're using it in a small apartment, dormitory, RV, or even during an indoor BBQ or camping. The installation process is straightforward—just attach the bracket and anti-slip pad, and you're good to go. The compact design and portable handle make it easy to carry and use in various settings.

Overall, this portable range hood is a practical and effective solution for anyone needing extra exhaust relief. It’s especially useful for those without built-in range hoods or who need a bit of extra help with smoke and odor control while cooking.

This is a great thing to have if you do not have a range fan in your home, or need it on the go. Its small, yet mighty! The fan is easy to use, plug and play. It works great indoors and out, keeping the smoke at your cook-outs to a minimal. Great for deep frying!
