About this item

The story of the science of plasma and its revolutionary implications for the way we understand the universe and our place in it.

Histories of science in the 20th century have focused on relativity and quantum mechanics. But, quietly in the background, there has been a third area of exploration that has equally important implications for our understanding of the universe. It is unknown to the general public, despite the fact that many Nobel prize winners, senior academics and major research centres around the world have been devoted to it - it is the study of plasma.

Plasma is fourth state of matter, and the other three - gas, liquid and solids - emerge out of plasma. This audiobook will reveal how more than 99 per cent of the universe is made of plasma and how there are two gigantic clouds of plasma, called the Kordylewski Clouds, hovering between the Earth and the Moon, only recently discovered by astronomers in Hungary. Other revelations not previously known outside narrow academic disciplines include the evidence that in certain circumstances, plasma exhibits features that suggest they may be in some sense alive: clouds of plasma have evolved double helixes, banks of cells and crystals, filaments and junctions, which could control the flow of electric currents, thus generating an intelligence similar to machine intelligence. We may, in fact, have been looking for signs of extra-terrestrial life in the wrong place.

Best-selling author Robert Temple has been following the study of plasma for decades and has worked with several of the senior scientists - including Nobel laureates - at its forefront, including Paul Dirac, David Bohm, Peter Mitchell and Chandra Wickramasinghe (who has co-written an academic paper with Temple).

I had no idea that 'plasma' can exhibit organizational patterns that may be intentional! That's the kind of thing the author informs us about. Great book.

I love this book. Its so profoundly mind opening. It easily is the most significant book I have ever read to meaningfully resolve the mind-body dualism problem. I love how Temple digs into seminal research and gives us the clues to lost branches of science... biophotons, biophysics, magnetic monopoles, Wilhelm Reich and Orgonite. Simply phenomenal!

This book is very explanatory of the history and emerging understanding of plasma physics and bio photons for the non scientist. Easy to read and understand some truly amazing aspects of our reality that go largely unacknowledged by scientific media outside of professional journals and untranslated Russian papers. Great book!

I love the idea of quantum mechanics and this book provides a beautifully detailed explanation of the newest understanding of our universe in terms that are understandable to the lay person such as I am.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Little Light on the Details to Justify the Speculations Made
Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2022
Having read Robert Temple's book "Oracles of the Dead" and enjoyed it, I was eager to see what this book was about. Temple is somewhat outside the mainstream of academic thought and he is not afraid to throw out speculative ideas about human history, the nature of consciousness and the physical world.

Temple gives us an introduction to the science of plasmas and plasma physics. Plasma being the so-called fourth state of matter formed from charged particles like electrons. The technical mathematical details that describe plasmas and their behaviour is not given in any real depth, instead Temple opts for a more general overview of this weird state of matter. The book discusses how our Earth is surrounded by a huge cloud of plasma formed from dust particles existing in the vacuum of space. It also looks at the mysterious cases of Ball Lighting as a plasmic phenomena and discusses the Sun as a plasma entity and the plasma formation of the Auroras or "polar lights" in the Southern and Northern hemispheres. The more radical aspects of this book come in the form of Temple's discussion on biological life as entailing plasma phenomena and he discusses electromagnetic phenomena in the bodies of living creatures such as bio-photon emissions and their relation to phenomena many scientists see as pseudoscience, such as body auras.

The most radical idea Temple puts forward in the book is the speculation that plasma phenomena may have conscious awareness. Temple speculates that the huge plasmic cloud that surrounds the Earth may actually be some kind of massive alien intelligence. The idea is interesting, but no evidence is given by Temple to support the idea. Indeed, one wonders what kind of evidence would support this notion? I am reminded of the novel/book "Solaris" where humans encounter an alien intelligence that takes the form of a vast ocean located on a distant planet. Such a form of intelligence is so foreign to the humans in the story that they are unable to grasp the exact nature or degree of its consciousness. Just how aware is it? Is its consciousness like that of a God or more like that of an amoeba? If the plasma cloud or clouds surrounding our Earth are indeed intelligent perhaps its consciousness is so foreign to us we can never understand it? Or perhaps we are interacting with the plasma consciousness all the time and we just don't know it? Or perhaps we are a part of this plasma consciousness?

Consciousness, as given to us in introspection, has a radically different set of properties to the physics notion of energy and yet the two phenomena, one based on form and intention, the other based on principles of “billiard ball” causation, symmetry principles and physical work, are deeply related somehow. Unfortunately, Temple does not even begin to tell us how these phenomena of mind and plasma energy are related. Not surprising, given that this would require solving the so-called “hard problem” of consciousness.

I would have liked this book more if Temple had gone deeper and more technical about the links between plasmas and biological life/consciousness, but he is clearly aiming at general audience with this one. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how many New Age types are going to find reading about plasma physics and plasma phenomena engaging enough to buy or read his book? Judging by his comments in the book, Temple has personally known some great scientists and thinkers in his time, and he clearly has an appetite for thinking outside the box, perhaps he could have tried to take his readers further along with him outside the box?

This review is for those who love the Bible and theological discussion, who are open-minded, and who resist dogmatism. It is not for those who are dogmatic but for those humble enough to realize that what they believe may not be the Truth.

A New Science of Heaven has been very helpful in helping me come to the scientific understanding that heaven may be another dimension that is near, not another location that is far. I believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, and "our God is a consuming Fire," says the Scripture, but Jesus, Who is Immanuel (God with us) cannot be seen.

I have been greatly influenced in my views of heaven by New Testament scholar N.T. Wright.

Wright believes the New Testament teaches the bodily resurrection of Jesus, that all people - both the righteous and the unrighteous - "sleep in the graves" until the general Resurrection, and that the fulfillment of God's promise, "the meek will inherit the earth" is the culmination of a restored EDEN. In summary, Wright teaches that the material earth is the eternal home of the materially resurrected Christians with physical bodies.
    -
I understand this view is orthodox Christianity and that N.T. Wright's view of materialistic resurrection is the historical view of Christianity.
    --
However, some of my heroes in the faith and science, particularly the Hebrew and Greek scholar John Gill (1697-1771) and Plato and Anaximandro in ancient science and philosophy, took the view that the soul is tied to the body by "a silver thread" (see Ecclesiastes 12:6-7) that only the CREATOR can untie (at death) or tie (at some point in gestation of human birth).
    -
Understanding both positions (materialism in the resurrection vs. the separation of soul and the body at death), my question is this:
    -
Assuming N.T. Wright is correct, "Where in the Universe is the resurrected Jesus Christ, meaning His material body?"
    -
Would defenders of Wright argue that Jesus is on another planet?
    -
Those who hold to Gill, Plato, and Anaximandro's views would say Jesus is in "a different realm," possibly the plasma realm of the cosmos, composed of beautiful fractals of plasma invisible to the human eye but composing at least 99.9 percent of the universe.
    -
A popular new book, "A New Science of Heaven," delves into the expanding science of plasma cosmology. Only in the last few decades have we discovered that the human brain is a fractal of the cosmic web of galaxies. In other words, the universe is connected electrically, with stars acting as connecting points to all other stars and planets, just like all the neurons of our brains are interconnected by electrical helix strings of electricity to various neurons.
    -
I'm not pushing any position (the new science of plasma cosmology or the material science of Isaac Newton and N.T. Wright).
    -
    I'm asking a simple question.
    ____

"If Jesus's resurrection body is fully atomic molecular material (like our bodies), where is the material body of Jesus now?"

Temple proves scientifically that there is a physical, material universe (plasma) that is unseeable to the human eye but is as material, informational, and tangible as the atomic material world that we see with the human eye.
    I
If "A New Science of Heaven" is correct, the resurrected body contains features of the plasma universe that are truly "in another realm" other than the physical/material to which we are accustomed.

Temple argues that plasma, which is 99.9 percent of the universe and sometimes wrongly called "Dark Matter," has DNA characteristics, electrical charges, and a pattern similar to the human brain. The stars are connected (like neurons in the brain) through electrical connections throughout the universe.

We don't know what we don't know, but it seems the universe could be seen as the Creator's "brain." And we who are created "in His image" have brains like His.

In eternity, we are the "body" of Christ, and He is "the Head."

This book has allowed me to see that theological "full preterists" may not be too far off about the resurrection being immediate, outside of time, with a resurrected body of informational plasma.

Regardless, I'm not fully convinced of Temple's argument about heaven. He gives the greatest scientific support to heaven in another realm that is close and not necessarily the physical atomic earth upon which we walk.

    We'll see.

    Soon.
