I initially bought a different brand from a local Chinese grocery store, a Shanghainese one that came in ball form, but it wasn’t as sweet as this one, and I had trouble crushing the balls into powers. As someone new to rice wine brewing, I’ve had great success using this powder twice now, always producing a sweet, fragrant wine. It’s so easy to make that I won’t be buying pre-packaged rice wine again! One thing to note: this one might be too sweet for those who prefer a stronger alcohol taste.
