Plus, bitcoin explained in a way that makes sense.

Often amusing, even though everyone seems a little too casual about handling guns.

This was my first book with this author. Firstly, I enjoyed the character development. Doc's personality embodied the right amount of arrogance, humility, humanity, humor and insight.
This was not a predictable plot and the suspense kept me intrigued enough that I couldn't stop reading.
By the time the story was over, I had a good image of all of the characters.
If I had to say anything negative, the plot involved some Ukrainian criminals. It kind of eluded that all Ukrainians were big and dumb. I overlooked the slight because the Ukrainians in the story probably were.

Really good light private citizen detective reading. Dramatic thriller with underpinning ER, criminal world and Bitcoin threads that add to the plot.
