5.0 out of 5 stars Obsessed with Free AF!

I have been looking for a non-alcoholic beverage that I truly enjoy the taste of, and I've found that with Free AF!! And bonus points -- the afterglow actually gives the warm feeling you get from drinking alcohol and the flavors are great!! My fiancé was skeptical at first, but he loves the Whiskey Ginger and favorite is the Paloma!

1.0 out of 5 stars Stick to plain seltzer
Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2024
As I've gotten older, I've learned that alcohol and I do not get along very well. If I had what was normally my limit-2 drinks-when going out, my sleep would be very disturbed. Eventually, even one alcoholic drink would wreak havoc with being well rested.

With the vicious heat this summer is bringing, it seemed worthwhile to try replacing some of my ethanol based summer sips with mocktails. This one-FREE AF Non-Alcoholic Cucumber G&T-was an utter miss.

First, an authentic g & t has NO cucumber in it. Whatever they are using in this to simulate a cuke tastes very unpleasant and artificial. What has always made gin and tonics a refreshing thirst quencher for me is the bitterness of the tonic-the quinine. This has none of that. I keep sipping this as I type the review and what keeps occurring to me is this tastes like 3 day old water from a vase of expiring flowers-only it's stale, slightly carbonated waste water.

While I am aware that it is foolish to expect the same taste experience with a N/A cocktail as one would get from a "fully leaded" drink, this bears no resemblance to any gin and tonic or even a good tonic water (like Fever Tree or Q Tonic) on the rocks. And $40 for what amounts to a 12 pack of bad tasting canned seltzer water? Fool me once, shame on you. I will most certainly NOT be fooled twice by coming back for more of this ersatz crap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great anytime you need that “ahhh…” moment.

I ordered a sample pack because frankly when I relax I want something with flavor and a bit of bite, but without the alcohol. This hits the spot. First tried the Paloma and was wowed by the flavor. Apero was next, which my wife loved. Stilled have to try the whiskey ginger, but these have been nothing but refreshing when you need that “ahhhh…” moment of relaxation at the end of a day. Winner.

4.0 out of 5 stars good, but expensive

Giving it 4 stars because of the price, and also was not impressed with vodka spritz, that one tasted just like plain water with a few bubbles in it. The rest of the pack was quite impressive actually, and specifically liked Cuba Libre and Apero Spritz. I have ordered additional bundles of those for the New Year's Eve :) Paloma and Whiskey ones were good as well. But, once again, it is a rather expensive option for "drinking without drinking", so I can only justify buying them infrequently / for special occasions.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2024
I wanted to like these -- my spouse and I have been trying a lot of different non-alcoholic canned drinks (beer, cocktails) over the last year or so, and I really like the concept. I was especially hoping to try the Apero spritz and the cucumber G&T from this line, but I didn't want to commit $$ to a whole pack of either, so I went with the tasting 6-pack. I got two Cuba Libres, two Palomas, one vodka spritz, and one Apero Spritz. I'll say right off that none of these drinks other than the Apero are ones I would ever order the real thing of, so bad luck there. The Cuba Libres: one star, absolutely gross, barely carbonated, a faint cola flavor but that's all. The vodka spritz: two stars, tasted like nothing, inoffensive. The Palomas and the Apero Spritz: two and a half stars, drinkable. In all but the Cuba Libre, I could SORT OF taste the "heat" that's supposed to suggest the alcohol, but I didn't find it beguiling. I'd still like to try the G&T, but at $4 per tiny can, and with the poor record of the other flavors, I definitely wouldn't risk it to buy a whole pack.

I'm loving this flavor. It's great to have around, esp during the holidays, when I don't want to drink but still want something I like to sip on. It also tastes really close to an actual G&T.

I had to read the ingredients to confirm that these are alcohol free! The taste is great and it definitely gives that warm feeling. Perfect alternative to real cocktails!

2.0 out of 5 stars Has sharp edges near the top and only comes with 11 of 12 cans

I like the drink itself (hence why I'm giving it some stars). But tradeoff is that most of the cans have a sharp edge near the top of the can, so it's dangerous to drink it straight out of the can because you can cut yourself.
Also, they ship it with only 11 cans, instead of the 12 it says in the description. (see the picture of the unopened pack)
