    As a long-time user of Clinique's iconic Black Honey Almost Lipstick, I was intrigued when I stumbled upon E.l.f.'s Hydrating Core Lip Shine in Ecstatic. At first glance, the two shades appear remarkably similar, and upon application, the resemblance is even more striking. However, it's the price difference that truly caught my attention. While Black Honey can cost anywhere from $20 to $25, this E.l.f. gem is a fraction of the price, making it an incredibly affordable option.

    One of the standout features of the E.l.f. lip shine is its impressive hydration. The heart-shaped core delivers a burst of moisture, leaving my lips feeling soft, supple, and nourished, especially during the harsh winter months. In comparison, I've found Black Honey to be slightly less hydrating, particularly in drier climates.

    This is absolutely my favorite lipstick. I keep one of my purse and one of my make up bag in the house. It’s very moisturizing and stays on. And at a great price.

    This isn't just a dupe for black honey, I actually like it even better. Black honey is not very deep on my lips - I have light/medium skin but I feel like Clinique's doesn't give me that hyped 90s berry-brown lip look. Black honey just looks like a sheer reddish tint on me. This elf ecstasy balm actually shows up on my lips, and gives me exactly what I wanted from black honey. However the big thing that Clinique has going for it is the iconic sleek metal tube packaging. This is just typical cheapy peepy drugstore packaging. And user experience means a lot to me... so I keep both around.

    First of all, this stuff feels AMAZING. I'm buying it again just in a more pink color, this color (Delightful) looked more mauve online, but on me looks purplish, not flattering. I love the smell, feel, super hydrating, doesn't bleed out of lipline or feel sticky like a gloss. When I find the right color this will be my go to, and for the price!?!? I'm really actually happy I found this because at 40 my lips have some color loss and crack in the winter and this feels way more hydrating than chapstick.

    I will forever recommend this product to everyone I know. This is the lip product I've been looking for for forever. The color is beautiful and it doesn't feel like a lipstick at all. It is SO hydrating! This is my second time purchasing and I will definitely be back for a 3rd!

    Looking for a more affordable black honey-

    VERY fragrant, not a super huge fan of the scent but for the price difference it is something I will put up with (-1 star)

    VERY hydrating, a solid choice for a glossy tinted balm

    Color - compared to black honey, it is a bit cooler toned with almost a brown tint instead of pink which is not what I was looking for. However, with a bright lip stain underneath, it gives the same overall effect.
    Overall, I would buy again :)
