    This is a good, strong packing tape that gets the job done, and I like that it’s easy to use and has a quiet unwind. The only thing to note is that it has a bit of an odor. It’s not too bad for me, but anyone with sensitivities might want to be aware. Overall, it’s still a solid tape for packing and moving.

    Have they improved this?! This Scotch Sure Start tape seems to be better than it used to. When I used this tape a few years ago, yes, it was quiet when pulling and easier to get the end started again whenever it fell down onto the roll, but the tape would wind up peeling away from whatever I stuck it on, which was usually packages for mailing. The adhesion didn't have much staying power to it so I stopped using the tape altogether. But right now, trying it again, it seems to be staying on my packages longer. I'm not experiencing any edges or corners peeling away yet. Yay! It also doesn't seem to be eating away the ink on my thermal ink labels, either. Double yay! Tape, in general, usually makes my thermal printed labels fade badly over the course of a day or two, but this Sure Start seems to not be doing that as much.

    I may need to start using this tape again if the adhesion and ink fading issues have been improved like it seems. I've always liked how easy it was to use this Sure Start tape and how quiet it was to use late at night when others were sleeping, so if Scotch has finally improved the adhesion and ink fading qualities of their Sure Start tape, I may need to be a loyal user once again.
