5.0 out of 5 stars The Jackery 700 Plus is a great portable powerhouse!
Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2023
The Jackery 700 Plus is a great portable powerhouse!

I already own two other Jackery units - the 160 & the 240, so I know the quality and longevity that Jackery products carry. The 160/240 - although much smaller than the 700 - have been game changers for road trips/off the grid adventures - especially when paired with a Solar Saga (Jackery's solar panel). The 700 Plus really extends how much longer my road adventures can last with the greater charging capacity and output levels.

I picked up the 700 Plus on a whim - since it was on sale for $399 due to Jackery/Amazon's pre-Black Friday deal. Normal price is close to $800. Free shipping from Prime, although it had to be shipped Ground due to the battery. Still no issue, since it seems like their warehouse is in Socal - so it took 1-2 business days to get to me after the shipment went out. Dollar-for-dollar, at the Prime/Black Friday deal of $399, this is a bargain, since the unit comes with 681 Wh (watt hours).

The 700 Plus is a great halfway point between the smaller Jackery units (like the 160/240/300) and the much larger/heavier units such as the 1000/2K/3K. The unit itself can charge up to 8 devices at the same time - a 12V DC port, two USB-A ports (18W), two USB-C ports (100W) and 3 AC outlets (1000W pure sine wave). It also has a handy light that's available in three settings - Low, High, Strobe/SOS. The large LCD display provides a lot of useful info including Input (when it is being recharged), and Output values including output watts, estimated time left on battery at rate of charge, voltage info and temp (via the app). The little fan that goes on internally to cool things down is pretty quiet - not as noticeable as it is on the 160/240 that I have.

The much higher output wattage capacity of 1000W is amazing for road trips/adventures since it greatly expands the type of appliances I can bring with me. This thing powers not only my 42W Hotlogic personal oven, my 45W portable fridge, but also powers my 380W compact water boiler, 375W Vornado personal heater, 60W electric blanket, and the USB ports are able to charge my phone, hotspot, laptop without issue.

Recharging speed is amazing - Wall adapter will charge your 700 Plus in about 1.7 hours - while you can also recharge it using the car plug (which I rarely do since if I'm on a road trip, the last thing I want to do is risk killing my car's battery charging this behemoth), and recharge via solar panel. I have two Jackery 60W panels, so it would prob take a lifetime to recharge this thing, but it's nice to have them handy until the 100W/200W panels go on sale.

    Only cons would probably be:
    * the weight - it's a lot heavier than my 160 & 240 (obviously due to the larger capacity) - but at 22lbs - it's pretty hefty. Not as easy to carry/move around as its smaller siblings.
    * Warranty registration - The other issue I ran into is that I kept getting an error message on the official Jackery website when I tried to register the product for their extended warranty. Reached out to CS and they told me they would get back to me.
    * Jackery app issues - the Jackery app is a bit wonky in that it has issues connecting sometimes, and if you don't connect to the device the minute you power it on, you won't be able to connect to it again unless you power off and then power back on (the manual says pushing the AC & DC buttons at the same time will turn bluetooth/wifi on, but that didn't seem to be the case when I tried it a few times).

Overall though - it's a deal at $399, and currently sold out on Amazon and the official Jackery website.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tons of power, a little heavy.
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2024
True to the Jackery brand, this box still amazes me every time we use it! My family and I mainly use it for camping and ice fishing trips, and we have never run short of power!

A typical camping trip for us would include: powering LED lights around the camp almost all night every night, charging our phones and computers, running a fan all night, powering a heated blanket for a few hours each evening, and powering an electric griddle a few times over the course of the trip. All of which we power with the Explorer 700+ and we have never seen the power drop below 20%! The Jackery app is also surprisingly useful in power management to keep track of how much you are using, how much is left, and in being able to turn on/off the power zones and light.

The only reason to give this a 4 star is because I feel like they downplayed how heavy this unit is. As you can see with my picture, they were very close in saying how much it weighs, but for reference, an average 2 year old toddler also weighs 22.5 pounds. So if you plan on moving it around a lot or if weight is a concern for backpacking or something else, this unit is probably a little big for something like that. On the plus side, I also feel that they overplayed the noise coming from the Explorer 700+. Although we don’t use huge power loads, when powering almost all of our devices, it is no louder than a low hum.

Pretty easy to more around, not too heavy nor too small. Can easily be taken for a weekend get-away and it will charge a lot of devices. I might some solar panels later on but so far, I'm happy with how fast it charges and build quality.

Provides very short-term power--2 hours maximum for powering one appliance only. The 1-month guarantee is worthless. Customer service does not meet customer needs.

Solar generators are game changers when used for camping. I got this one when it first came out and had a great intro price. 1000w inverter runs pretty much any portable decide. I use it mostly for my Starlink which it'll run all day, but also my Nespresso machine which draws about 1300w for a few seconds without issue. I do wish it had more solar charging capability, but so far it's been great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Camping Companion
Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2023
My first Jackery was the 300 and it has been perfect for three years running it replaced my Bluetti wasn't very well made and only lasted a year and died. Jackery Explorer 700 was a Black Friday deal and couldn't pass it up with my previous experiences I've had with Jackery. I think this is the perfect camping power station for my needs. I like all the features and it's very well constructed. Having the Lithium LiFePO4 Battery I think will be a plus also. Jackery's customer service was also very helpful in helping with my needs on deciding if the Explorer 700 would work for my needs. With my experience dealing with Jackery, I can highly recommend their products and service they haven't disappointed me yet.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great middle size Power Station
Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2023
This jackery 700 is exactly the same size as my Jackery 1000Pro. Had I known this, I would've just kept my Jackery 500 as it is much smaller and perfect for what it is. Wasn't smart of me for not measuring. If you're in the market for a Jackery with a little more power than the 500, just do yourself a favor and just purchase the Jackery 1000. I think the Jackery 700 is really good for the price during Black Friday that I coudln't pass up, however the dimension is incredibly large for its capacity. If they kept it the same size as the 500, this would've been perfect.
