    I did a lot of research on range hoods before choosing this VIKIO Home model, which is hailed as the latest generation. Right out of the box, the stainless steel construction is high quality and durable, and the look is sleek and sturdy. The control system is also very intuitive.

    Unlike my previous range hood, where I had to repeatedly press '+' and '-' to set the suction speed, and each time I set the wind speed, I needed to press the range hood multiple times to achieve my ideal suction level, this range hood displays the three speed options directly on the touch screen. With a simple tap, you can quickly and easily adjust while cooking.

    The gesture control is more accurate, probably because the upgraded chip responds more quickly, and the 980 CFM suction quickly clears kitchen smoke, keeping the air fresh and protecting my family from harmful fumes.

    It is also noticeably quieter than my old range hood. My cat used to run away when the range hood was on, but this range hood doesn't bother him at all. Overall, this is a powerful, efficient, and surprisingly quiet upgrade that I am very excited about!

    very quiet compared to our microwave fan. install wasn’t too bad but definitely heavy for one person job. if you plan on using this i would highly recommend using 6inch ductwork. we have 4 inch ductwork that was already installed and it works well but i think it would work much better with the suggested 6in. screws that came with it we didn’t use they’re just to long so we just used wall anchors and screws (see picture) so the screw head is inside the cabinet and the anchors are on the inside of the fan. we also switched to a brighter light bulbs (GU10 LED BULBS..

    update:
    We decided to upgrade our ductwork to 8inch from the 4 that was already installed and it made a ton of difference in suction. go 6” minimum but if you’re upgrading from 4 or installing from scratch go 8inch if you can you won’t be sorry you did.

    We initially received one that was a return used product, but then the seller handled and fixed the issue very professionally. This hood range is extremely powerful and looks great. The noise level is excellent given the suction power! Overall I highly recommend!

    This is a fantastic hood for a kitchen like mine, where we cook spicy food regularly. I normally do not write reviews, but I am 100% satisfied with this product. I hope to come back and provide follow-up feedback after one year. Highly recommend!

    “Range Hood 30 inch Under Cabinet,Kitchen Hood with 980CFM,3Speed Gesture Sensing&Touch Control Panel,Stainless Steel Kitchen Vent”

    We ordered this VIKIO range hood to replace our ultra quiet Broan range hood. At the time I installed the Broan hood, it was the quietest and most powerful range hood on the market. Also, very sleek looking and stylish. Unfortunately, its control panel had quit working, and parts are unavailable.

    This VIKIO range hood is also great looking, and it’s just like it appears in the listing.

    I removed our old Broan range hood, and installed this new VIKIO range hood on the day it arrived. I did it all by myself by stacking some scrap lumber on top of our stove (after covering it with an old towel to protect it) until I had just the right height for me to place the range hood on top of the stacked wood so that the range hood was pressed up against the bottom of the cabinets above the stove.

    I chose to vent out the back of the hood using a rectangular vent, so I had to move around the exhaust connectors on the range hood. It comes set up from the factory to use a round duct out the top of the hood. It was no problem to change things around though.

    I also chose to hardwire the range hood to my existing wiring. I simply cut off most of the hood’s power cord and the plug, stripped the wires, and connected them to my wiring using wire nuts. I also had to drill a new hole through the back of the hood to accommodate where my wires are located in my wall.

    The installation went perfectly with no surprises. The dimensions of the VIKIO hood are pretty much the same as our old Broan hood, so I didn’t have to modify any of the cabinetry. If you just follow the included installation instructions, you shouldn’t have any problems.

    The twin fans on this VIKIO hood really exhaust a huge volume of air, and they do it pretty quietly.

    The lights that came with the hood weren’t as bright as what we’re accustomed to. Changing out the LED MR16 GU10 3 Watt bulbs for 7 Watt bulbs was easy, and it gave us the light we wanted.

    I did a lot of research before ordering this hood. I know that VIKIO is an excellent and reputable brand, but the predecessor to this hood was getting a few bad reviews. Some people felt that the “no touch” sensors were too sensitive, allowing the hood to turn on if you walked by it, or even just came near it.

    All of that has been corrected with this new version. There are no false triggers, even if you retrieve something in the cabinet above the hood. It takes a definite hand wave in front of the control panel for “no touch” operation.

    Of course, you can easily just use the control panel by touching the icons. You can also turn off/on the “no touch“ feature by touching the little icon that looks like a hand.

    Everything works perfectly, and we’re very pleased with this range hood. It comes with a two year parts warranty, which is pretty standard. If I have any problems with the range hood in the future, I’ll be sure to update this review.

    Significantly more difficult to install that my previous hood vent. The screw spacing isn't as wide as my other one either. So, it screws into the thinnest part of the cabinet. I had to buy extra hardware to be able to mount it securely.
