    I admit that I'm not a big video software user, so I can't give you a detailed evaluation of all the features in the product. I purchased it primarily to allow me to watch BluRay/DVD's on my laptop as well as the plethora of different formatted video files. For my level of usage the product is perfect, it's easy to install, easy to use, and doesn't require "tuning" or downloading additional codecs to function right out of the box, and I have yet to find a video file format that it doesn't work with, plus the quality of the screenshots from video it provides is excellent.

    Against better judgement, i purchased this in the hopes that this would be sufficient to play Blu-Rays on my PC. There isn't a huge market for Blu Ray software, but this had better than average reviews. As soon as i started the installation, I received an Microsoft Visual C++ R6034 installation error, and have tried troubleshooting several times using different methods to no avail. I have significant IT experience, and am usually able to troubleshoot software and hardware issues on my own in my 20+ years of experience. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get this to install or start correctly.

    I tried reaching out to their customer service to open a support ticket and received a generic troubleshooting guide that was not helpful nor relevant, I then replied back over a week ago, and I've heard nothing from Cyberlink. This is not a company that makes a quality product, and getting in touch with them is like finding a needle in the haystack, they won't respond. I have to be honest, I didn't expect to pay for a piece of software that didn't work even once. It's a scam and a shame, and the only way to speak to a person is pay $29.95 for their "premium" support.

    I've used this type of software since it first came online a number of years ago. They've discontinued some of the original features, but they've improved the visual quality for watching dvd's/Blu-ray discs. There's new features but you have to play with it once you get it home, or check it out on you tube.

    I just needed something to play my regular dvd's on my laptop. Well worth the cost in my opinion.

    The just didn't live up to the date they originally promised, thus the reason for only four stars.

    I recently bought a Blu-Ray drive for my Windows 7 desktop. I didn't realize you ALSO need a program capable of running it (not something Windows can do on its own). Other programs I considered purchasing allowed only limited playback of Blu-Ray media; like not allowing use of the actual menu of the Blu-Ray disc, chapter selection, deleted scenes, special features, or other versions of a film.

    I can say that this program played my Battlestar Galactica (2004) Blu-Ray discs just fine and also allowed me to use the disc menu*, chapter selection, and view the extras.

    *NOTE: While this program, unlike others, does allow you to access the Blu-Ray menus and other features as intended, it does not allow direct interaction of a mouse to the Blu-Ray menu itself. Instead you need to use the keyboard arrow keys (which is not hard at all, use the left arrow key to go back to previous menu) and Enter key to select or you can use the virtual navigation controls that are included, which is convenient.

    *ALSO NOTE: There IS a navigation bar on the bottom of the view screen that you CAN interact with a mouse once your video is playing that allows the standard video control features of: Previous Chapter, Rewind, Pause, Play, Fast Forward, Next Chapter, Volume, and many more, including VR support.

    PRO: It did exactly what I wanted it to do, make my Blu-Ray drive work on my Windows 7 Desktop PC.
    PRO: Allows use of all Blu-Ray disc menus and other features I have tried thus far, including playing deleted scenes and extras.

    CON: The price; but, you get what you pay for. So far I am happy with this program.
    CON: You cannot use your mouse to interact directly with the Blu-Ray menus, you must use the keyboard or the virtual navigation controls included with the program, but it is a minimal hindrance.

    I installed the software and it froze up when I played movies. I'm sure I have enough RAM. I just don't know?
