About this item

Dive into the #1 best-selling mystery series readers are comparing to Connelly, Patterson, and Baldacci.

How do you catch a killer who's already behind bars?

Thomas Austin was once a star NYPD detective, known for locking up a psychopathic serial killer: The Holiday Baby Butcher. Now retired in a small beach town, Austin runs a little café, trying to overcome the loss of his wife, a district attorney who was gunned down only one year ago.

But when a mysterious bag of bones appears on a nearby beach, Austin is dragged back into law enforcement for one last job. The Holiday Baby Butcher is behind bars, so it has to be a copycat. But with each new clue, the killer seems closer and closer to the real thing.

Now Austin must overcome the darkness of his past to chase a killer as twisted as any America has ever seen. And when Austin finally learns the truth, it's a twist so shocking it shakes him to his core, and threatens his life.

The Bones of Point No Point is the mesmerizing debut crime thriller from D.D. Black, perfect for fans of James Patterson, Lisa Regan, Michael Connelly, and David Baldacci.

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Pacific Northwest setting, characters I actually liked, and a twist so deranged I had to start the book over from the beginning the second I finished."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A serial killer as sick as any I've seen. Highly recommended."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great mystery! I loved the Pacific Northwest setting, loved the occasional bits of humor mixed in with this chilling story of a retired detective pulled back into the fray for one more job. I only hope Austin can find love again."

5.0 out of 5 stars A new series that pleasantly surprised me!

I just finished The Bones at Point No Point and was on the edge of my seat the whole time! My favorite genre is psychological thrillers and I was so happy to find a new series that began with this one. When there are babies being kidnapped and killed, you've not only got my attention but my sympathy too and that's how this book begins and ends! The characters are terrific, especially handsome Thomas Austin our hero and Mr. Black managed to fill out the cast of supporting characters enough so that we're interested in what continues to happen to them too! Great read! Now I'm on to book two in this fantastic series! Later!

4.0 out of 5 stars I love a mystery.. Butttt

Okay, I enjoy a mystery, but this one had me cringing at the heinous crimes against the babies in the story. I tried not to focus on that, and deal with the whodunit part, and that helped some. I don't want to spoil the storyline but, it's gruesome.

It kind of reminded me of another author that I very much love. Enough that I found myself wondering if it was him writing under a pseudonym. Regardless, it took me to places I love to read about. The characters are rich, the plot is full and explosive, and you will have a hard time putting it down! I'll be looking for the second book in this series.

Enjoy!

I loved this book! A fast pased, action packed, well written twisted, complex mystery with well developed characters! Thomas' synesthesia was a unique and interesting sensory reaction to people. Great police procedural! Awesome tech support!

Not a bad read . I enjoyed the work . I thought the protagonist was done well , the story told with action and excitement.
It is not the great American Novel. It wasn’t wrote with that objective.
It is a nice easy read , interesting with a good hook.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 ok story but not quite there

The characters have development but I don’t quite like them yet. The “I’ve never heard of the internet” schtick got very old. Not sure how that’s supposed to be an endearing quality or even believable. The mystery part was ok but even that fell a little flat for me on the reveal time.

Got my attention from the first chapter. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I know life must go on, but it's much more difficult when a fantastic book keeps calling to you. It flowed wonderfully. Sometimes, when reading, you can see where the plot is going. But this book had my mind racing all over the place. I would have never figured it out. Nice job D.D. Black.
