    I panicked when the light bulb in the freezer section of our relatively new (late 2021) Maytag side by side refrigerator blew out. The warranty had expired two years ago and repairmen these days want money just for showing up at your home regardless of whether they can fix the problem or not. So I removed the dead bulb —I must admit it took a lot of wiggling and wrangling to get it out of its slot on the left freezer wall. There were two wires with connectors attached to the bulb and I disconnected these too. Found this replacement bulb on Amazon and it turns out this is almost an exact match for my Maytag refrigerator model no. MSS25N4MKZ04. Reconnected the wires and installed this bulb where the old one was and it lit up immediately. And it’s still going strong two weeks later. My wife is happy too because she couldn’t find anything searching around in the dark freezer lol. I’m putting in another order for this bulb because I want to have a spare on hand for the next time it blows out.

    This replaces the original LED light perfectly in the bottom freezer compartment of my Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer. You will need to remove the freezer door and both baskets to get enough room to replace the light. Even then, it requires a lot of force to pop the old light fixture out and pop the new one in. That isn't a fault of the person selling the replacement. It's due to the poor way Whirpool designed it.
