5.0 out of 5 stars Nutritious and great taste

Reasonable priced for a large bag of the dried fruit. Very satisfying to have even just a couple of pieces. Chewy and very tasty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Taste and Great Source of Potassium
Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2024
These were better than I expected and I'm going to have to order them again! I ordered them because they are packed with potassium, but they taste great and I'm eating more than I need to. I appreciate that they aren't treated with sulfur like most are. They kind of taste like a less sweet raisin with more depth. Great buy!

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not taste like apricots!

Apricots are “black” and taste burnt. I’ve never seen anything like this for dried fruit. Very poor quality and no returns!!! I would have given it minus stars if that was possible:(

5.0 out of 5 stars They do taste pretty good!

I was skeptical about the color and I had to ask ChatGPT. About this and it’s respond was:

Yes, it’s completely normal for **unsulfured Turkish apricots** to be darker in color compared to the bright orange apricots you might be used to. Here’s why:

### **Sulfured vs. Unsulfured**:
- **Sulfured Apricots**: The bright orange apricots you often see in stores are typically treated with sulfur dioxide, which helps preserve their color and prolong shelf life. This is why they remain a vibrant orange.
- **Unsulfured Apricots**: Unsulfured apricots, like the ones you purchased, are not treated with sulfur dioxide, so they undergo a natural drying process. This results in a much darker color, often a deep brown or blackish hue, which is completely natural.

### **What Causes the Color Change?**
Without the sulfur to preserve the bright color, apricots will darken as they dry due to the natural oxidation process. This change in color does not affect the flavor, and many people prefer unsulfured apricots because they are free from additives and preservatives.

### **Flavor and Texture**:
- **Flavor**: Unsulfured apricots often have a richer, more intense flavor than their sulfured counterparts, with a slightly more caramel-like taste due to the natural sugars concentrating during the drying process.
- **Texture**: They can sometimes be a bit chewier or less soft than sulfured apricots.

So, the dark color you see in your Turkish apricots is completely normal and a good sign that they are in their natural, unprocessed state. Enjoy!

So that calmed my fears and they taste really good!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent snack

This is the second order of the terrasoul apricots I’ve placed with Amazon. The price is excellent, considerably below any supermarket price. Make sure to use the bag sealer, otherwise when you get to the bottom of the bag the remaining apricots will be hard.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are good.

For years I have tried dried apricots and was always disappointed. I think maybe it was the sulfur. They never tasted good. I had given up. But since I liked Terrasoul's figs and dates I thought I would give their apricots a try. They have a really good flavor and are soft and easy to eat. They are not the pretty orange color of other dried apricots (that taste terrible). So don't be put off by the color, which is a brownish to darker brownish color, the taste and texture is really good. You will enjoy eating these apricots. I put 5 stars for value for the money, because I have wasted so much money on dried apricots that are just not good tasting. So I don't mind spending money on something I can enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre and inconsistent
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2024
The really good ones are really good. However, there's a huge range in quality from apricot to apricot. I have taken to pulling each apart in order to inspect them before consumption. I have found far too many with stem or seed fragments still inside, which are intolerably bitter. Some were obviously picked too underripe and are not appealing tasting even dried. Some have had dead insects or insect fragments inside. Many have damaged skin or evidence of fungal infection while they were still growing. I expect I will still make it through the bag eventually, but the inconsistency in quality ensures I will never buy them again. I would believe it if someone told me these are the apricots left over after the better quality ones are purchased by other brands/distributors.
