Easy to machine, bend, plated, soldered and braze and has high strength as well. Looks similar to gold when polished, non-sparking, and offers great corrosion resistance.
Applications nuts, bolts, dowels, rivets, valve stems, pump shafts, marine hardware, musical instruments, decorative purposes, fixtures and plumbing, models car ship/boat plane, locks, axels, harwares and other applications where low friction properties are needed.
Brass is a beautiful alloy and can be frequently found in a variety of home, commercial, and industrial applications. Brass can be endlessly recycled without degradation and is often an excellent substitute for copper.
Our brass rod, nonferrous alloy, is a versatile, free cutting, half hard brass and is the standard of machinability (rated 100%) against which all nonferrous alloys are rated. It's an ideal metal for milling, drilling, tapping, knurling or turning.

    I bought this to make hooks for a pot rack in my kitchen. Nice, thick, shiny brass rods were perfect for that and cost much less than premade hooks at my local hardware store Rods came packed in a reclosable plastic tube so they arrived nice and straight. These rods would work great for pinning knife handles but are inexpensive enough for handicraft or workshop use too. I'm glad I bought these.

    I use these brass rods to repair my INTEC portable spa( pump) the impeller is not offered for sale but the simple rod can be replaced inside the impeller for almost nothing and works good.

    My favorite part of putting scales on a knife blank is peening the brass pins and then polishing them to a mirror finish. These rods are darned good for that.
