Okay so Ford and Taytum are in my top 5 favorite hockey romance couples. I really enjoyed the dynamic of caring for her and keeping track of her T1D. I think this book did a great job illustrating the real fear and danger type 1 diabetics live with regularly due to the volatility of sugar levels and need for exact insulin dosages.
I was glad that the drama with their relationship coming out wasn’t drawn out because it shouldn’t have been - he’s been a staple in her life for way too long for that kind of response.
If you like brother’s best friend, over-protective, hockey men - this is the best book for you. Plenty of swoon-worthy moments with spice ???? and sweet, loving moments ????.

About this item
A deliciously sexy, enemies-to-lovers, brother’s-best-friend, hockey romance by Amazon Top 50 and USA Today bestselling author, S.J. Sylvis
Ford Collins is my brother’s best friend and Bexley U’s favorite defender on the ice. Unfortunately, he feels the need to block much more than the puck.
Namely, ME and any chance I have with a guy.
Encouraged by my older brother, Ford has ruined every single date I’ve ever had. With his hot smirk and sly maneuvers, he has made it his mission to make me the most unattainable female college student in the world—that is, until I have a brush with death, and I beg him to help me.
After all, he owes me. And I’ve come to collect.
Determined to rid himself of the guilt, Ford promises to help me score a boyfriend—or two—and swears he won’t interfere.
But the more time I spend learning from one of Bexley U’s most desirable playboys, the more I start to question the real reason why he’s been sabotaging my dates over the years.
With the lingering touches, heated stares, and sizzling chemistry between us, we both know we’re playing with fire. What happens when our game of “practice” and Ford’s spicy lessons become something real that we not only need to hide from my older brother, but from each other?
Puck Block is book #3 in the Bexley U series and CAN be read as a standalone in this interconnected series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Brother’s Best Friends story

4.0 out of 5 stars Ford & Taytum
Happy Ford Collins Day!!
The Bexley U hockey series has quickly became one of my most beloved series ever. Puck Block is book 3 of this series, and let me tell you what…these three books, especially these three male main characters, are the perfect hat trick by SJ Sylvis. Literally perfection. Her writing is so addictive and I love all of her books and her characters, especially the MMCs. But Ford Collins, yeah Ford has always been my favorite, and his book only solidified what I already knew ????
We met Ford in Weak Side, and I loved him from the very moment I met him. I knew from the word go that Taytum and his story was going to be amazing, and SJ did not disappoint.
There are so many layers to Ford Collins and every single one of them is perfect and every single one of them loves Taytum. And Taytum has a unique ability to keep him on his toes and toy with him. These two are truly meant for each other and watching them get to that realization is full of so much emotion, love, tension, angst and lots and lots of witty banter.
And can we talk about the amazing tropes in this books?!
-Brother’s Best Friend
-Hockey Romance
-He Falls First and He Falls HARD
-Boy OBSESSED
-It’s Always Been You
-Secret/Forbidden Romance
-He Takes Care Of Her
-Chronic Health Rep
And as a nurse, I appreciated how SJ brought so much attention to access to care! Such a huge important topic, especially surrounding a complex chronic condition, like Type 1 Diabetes. And I cannot tell you how much I appreciated this aspect of the book.
This is a book that I’m going to be thinking about for a long, long time. This series, these characters, their stories they are so perfect. If you haven’t been to Bexley U yet, this is your sign that you should.
SJ - Thank you SO much for giving us Ford and Taytum’s story. Thank you so much for giving us Ford Collins. Thank you so much for giving us Bexley U. And thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to read an advanced copy. It’s an honor to be a member of your team. ???? This book and this entire series are so well done, and will forever be some of my favorites. I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next!!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite trope!
When SJ writes it, I am going to read it. When she says Ford is her favorite, I know I am going to love the book immensely. Yeah, that is a true fact after finishing Puck Block, I am in love with Ford and how he made knowing everything he could about Taytum and what she was going through his mission in life. He tried so hard to keep his distance from his best friend’s sister, but there was nothing that could stop the force of nature. That invisible line was so strong nothing was breaking it and I am here for all of that.
What needs to be said, Taytum is so freaking strong. She has a strength that I think so many miss when they don’t understand what is happening in your life. She worked hard to hide everything going on for the sole purpose of wanting to fit in and not be different. What she didn’t realize was that she needed to allow people in to help her. She didn’t need to take the world on alone, but she felt like she was alone because her older brother and his best friend made it their mission to keep guys away. Yeah, that kind of big brother over protectiveness. Ford tried to keep the balance between the two siblings, not realizing how difficult it was to be the one in the shadows of protection. When Taytum fought back and then let him in, he learned and then made it his mission to show her the way. These two are the epitome of finding the one your heart desires no matter the uphill battle. I loved every single second of this book, but that isn’t a surprise.

3.0 out of 5 stars eh not bad but not great either
It was fine. Not great, but I guess not bad either. I didn’t dislike Ford or Taytum but I also didn’t really like them either. I wanted to like Ford more than I did. (honestly the most I liked him was in the epilogue with his little Photoshop stunt) Also, I’m so over the “it’s always been you” trope when the MMC is still a total playboy before they get together. Maybe authors’ think we love a reformed playboy so much that they make all their MMCs super promiscuous prior to the FMC but when it’s combined with the “it’s always been you” trope, in my opinion, it diminishes the believability and chemistry of the whole relationship. (side note: I hated that he made out with her roommate. Totally unnecessary solution to the problem and honestly the moment I decided I was never going to really love Ford.) And forbidden only because she’s his best friend’s brother started getting really old and annoying. I mean come on. Making that the only reason they’re not together? People form relationships with childhood family friends all the time. I’m over it. It’s a weak excuse to keep them apart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story!!
This was a great story! I was attracted to it because of the main character with diabetes which doesn’t happen often. The effort was there, the portrayal of what having diabetes is like was a bit off. Still a great story!!

4.0 out of 5 stars good read
Loved this one and the childhood love they both shared but hid. A great story that kept others from the series in it. A good read, not as good as some of the others in the series but it was good. I enjoyed it

5.0 out of 5 stars For and Taytum
Puck Block by SJ Sylvis is a standalone in the Brexley U books. They should be read in order to avoid spoilers. This one is a brother's best friend hockey romance. It follows the story of hockey player Ford and ballerina dancer Taytum.
