Very versatile digital reading meat thermometer

This meat thermometer was worth every penny. Not only is it sleek and very easy to read, but it is right on target with any meat, chicken, pork and fish that I cook on a regular basis. I use to have my old school dial gauge thermometer which took forever to get a reading, with my new one I can actually use it while I’m cooking and get instantaneous temperature readings. One of the things my wife just found out about it is magnetic you can attach it to your fridge so you never misplace it. I love it. If you love cooking and have been cooking as long as me, it’s a great little investment for your kitchen.???????? God Bless!

I was surprised at the very low price but decided I wasn’t risking much by trying it. I’ve only used it for a week so far, but it seems to work just fine. I do like the way it doesn’t turn on until the probe is extended. So the chances of accidentally turning it on & thereby running down the battery are zero. With the OXO model, which I’ve purchased in the past, I would sometimes accidentally turn it on by grasping it at the top & hitting the on button. Or the on button would get bumped accidentally when I reached for something else in that drawer.
I just hope this less expensive type will last well into the future! Stay tuned ….

Works Well, but not the fastest response

It's a very nice meat thermometer. Easy to read, especially with the backlight. My only quibble is that it is a bit slower to respond to temperature than the one that I was going to replace (My current one is old.). I did a comparison while cooking on the grill. Waiting a couple more seconds for the temperature reading to stabilize was a little uncomfortable. I'll keep it because it is so easy to read, but I do wish it was faster.

It seems very accurate. I tested it with boiling water and ice and it was within 2 degrees for each. It responds to the accurate temperature very quickly because the tip has a low thermal mass. It is very versatile. You can use it for yogurt and cheese making, beer making, oven and grill meat thermometer. The backlight display is easy to read but the backlighting only stays on for 5s ( to save batteries ). Great price too.

Can’t cook without it! (Just beware of C v. F)

I have two of these at the house - one for the oven, one for the grill. Game changer because I never really cooked meat, but when my grown son moved in I had to learn LOL had my first two for three years, not a single complaint, very reliable and accurate, magnet is great to stick right to the grill or fridge, display is easy to read and reads very quick. Super durable, I just try to clean only the probe and stay away from getting the product itself wet as I’ve seen reviews with water issues. No biggie. Staying a my father’s house a few hours away and all they had was an old manual thermometer. Maybe I’m biased and a little crazy but I overnighted one of these because I forgot mine at home… now I have 3!

Word to the wise - the thermometer is set on Celsius when you open the package! Change it to Fahrenheit if need be before overcooking your steak. **face palm** Haha

You would think that a low price thermometer doesn’t work, but you would be surprised. This is actually a super reliable thermometer with a big screen, which makes its super easy to read the temperatures and it lasts a long time. It reads the temperatures super quickly and its buttons are smooth and easy to use AND it tells you the temps of certain foods (chicken cooked, steak at rare/medium/etc)
