Nice basic desk calculator. Big enough to be able to easily see, read and use, yet small enough that it doesn't take a bunch of space. The solar feature works fine and the battery life is very acceptable. I've had one for many years; when my wife took it over I purchased another for myself. Found no reason to change. Good calculator, great value.

This calculator is simply perfect. The keys are large enough and also far enough a part to let my fingers fly.
The display is large and clear, even to my over age 60 eyes. It has an off button which I like and it displays the name CASIO when it powers off, cute. This calculator is made in the Philippines and the quality is high like you would expect from a Japanese manufacturer.

I just received and used this calculator, and it's a steal. It replaces a much pricier  HP 12C Platinum Calculator , which I'd gotten about five years ago when I needed the more advanced functions. I'd bought two of the HP 12C's, to have one as backup, and they were nothing like the 12Cs of before -- the keys malfunctioned on both of the 12Cs within just 25-50 uses (sticking and more often, not registering at all) and there was no easy fix. I've been tolerating them for the last few years, assuming that was just how calculators were made these days, but finally had enough.

I just need basic calculator functions now, and for that, the Casio MS-80B is perfect. The interface is incredibly user friendly, the keys work flawlessly (so far), the display is large and clear, and the solar power is a bonus.

I also wanted to clear up several question re: the MS-80B's keypad functions. This model does indeed have both an 'off' key and a delete/backspace key, which prior reviews said this calculator doesn't have. The picture currently displayed on Amazon's official product page (as of this review, 6/21/15) is wrong and shows model MS-80S, which lacks these two functions. It's possible that prior reviewers got the wrong model (?).

The MS-80B has both an off key and a delete/backspace key, which sit on the top row of the keypad. The backspace key looks like a right-pointing arrow. I've attached a photo of the MS-80B so you can see for yourself.

In sum, this is a great basic calculator, for an amazing price. I did a quick search of the other basic models available on Amazon, and this appears to be the best in terms of value, build, and reviews. I can't speak to its long-term durability, but for this price, I don't think you can go wrong!

4/7/16 UPDATE: This calculator is used at least weekly and is still going strong. I especially love the large buttons and display, and the solar power. I highly recommend this calculator for anyone who doesn't need advanced functions - from a quality perspective, it easily outperforms my high-end financial HPs (the HPs look more premier, but as I mentioned previously, the models as currently made fail quickly).

This is a great small calculator.
It is easy to use and works well. I had bought calculators from the dollar store but they seldom lasted past one use. Will add calculator to the list of things that I will buy at the dollar store.

Works exactly as I thought it would. Cheaper than buying batteries for my old one that this is replacing. The finish is metallic, shinier than I thought it would be.

 I used to have one of these calculators a while ago and it lasted a very long time. I started doing bookkeeping again as a side hustle and it was time to get another one. This is a quality calculator. I love the large numbers that I can see from the distance and it is light weight and a compact size that fits anywhere. Excellent quality for the money. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate this is the one to get.

Once you know how to set the % function (via YouTube) the calculator is very useful. 1- Press AC, 2- Hold Set % for 4 seconds, press Tax Rate Button, Enter the number you want to set the tax rate at. Hit the Set % button to store that value in memory. Now you just enter a number you want to either add or subtract that stored percentage value using the Tax - or Tax + buttons. I use this on my online sales amounts to figure out how much i need to sell something for after all the fees. Easy to read display - great contrast. Quick response on keypad. Cool OFF button that displays "CASIO" before shutting off. Highly recommended.

I think this is my fifth Casio MS-80B. Not because they keep failing, but because through the many years we've used them, we've come to love this calculator. They are durable and last for years, but everything eventually wears out, particularly with four boys at home! The price is right, the display is easy to read, and the buttons have a nice spring to them. It's a solar calculator, so you don't have to worry about batteries. The solar panel is sensitive, so low light levels still make the calculator work great. The display is raised at a slight angle for easy viewing. There is a matching indicator in the display that lets you know which function you last pressed (e.g., addition, subtraction), so if you're totaling your checkbook, you'll know where you left off. There are other features that I'm confident I'll never use, so you can check out other reviewers opinions on those. I purchased a second calculator as my wife has recently gone back to accounting and uses our other MS-80B. Suffice it to say, as long as Casio makes the MS-80B, that will be our go-to for calculators!
