Stay away from a brand you supposedly trust to make cards.
The user interface is bad: Gives you no instruction on how to place the paper properly.
Not compatible with Printer Interface: It does not allow the printer to apply 2 sided printing. you will waste a lot of paper trying to figure out the orientation.

All of which I mentioned, makes this program unusable and obsolete.
this is an embarrassment to the company that leads the greeting card army.

i wasted my money, don't waste yours.

This Hallmark greeting card software for the Mac, in spite of what some have said in their reviews, works perfectly on my 27” iMac running Mac OS 10.15.6, the latest version of Catalina. I noticed that most of those complaining of problems were those using the software on LAPTOPS, which might account for their troubles. My iMac is pretty powerful, with 16 GB of RAM.

In any event, the Hallmark Card Studio for Mac is working and printing flawlessly. It saves projects easily, allows for various adjustments—including adding photos from my desktop, easily adjusting font type and size as I work—all intuitively.

I downloaded this to my IMAC and it didn't work. I called APPLE and was told some of the software is not compatible with my IMAC. The description indicated that it was. When I tried to contact Amazon I was unsuccessful. The robotic voice told me to enter a 3 digit number and I would be connected with customer support. Despite entering it three times the robotic voice said I didn't and disconnected me. I have always had better service from amazon. I am so frustrated. If I could give a rating of no stars I would.

I ordered the download version of Hallmark Card Studio for Mac. I could not find the disk version. After I downloaded and attempted to install I received an error message. Apple could not open the application because it could not scan for security reasons. I could not get any help from Amazon or from the developer. The application is non returnable or returnable. I had to use the install anyway option. This is totally unacceptable application offered for sale by trusted vendors.

I have used the older Card Shop program for years and liked it. It is great to be able to print and customize your birthday and Christmas cards with photos and personal information. It also stops the need to rush out to to the drug store to find an appropriate card at the last minute. I believe that the program pays for itself after a while given the expense of nice greeting cards. I bought the new version of the program just to get some new card options since I have used most of the ones I had in the old program.

After reading the reviews I was not real sure this would work but it does. I have a 2019 27" iMac and I downloaded and installed running Big Sur (not sure if it will run on the new Mac with M1 chip). No issue on the install. I made several cards with my own text inserts. I was also able to drag and drop photos from my Photo app on any place on the card. I had to practice using the text inserts until I got the hang of it. You need to print one side at a time, then turn over the page and reinsert the other direction to print the inside pages. Not sure why some have had issues. I found none so far. There are a ton of ready to go cards that are customizable.
4-23-2021 update: I verifies it works on the new Mac with M1 chip. On initial opening of the program it states author not verified but if you go to preferences, security and click allow anyway it will work.
7-8-21 update: Now when I try to use the program it states I need an internet connection which I have and running fine. I tried to go to their Web site for help and it will not load. Looks like if their servers are not working the program is useless. I'm removing 2 stars.

I'm very dismayed that this program will not work on my new Mac mini. I used the old program on my previous Mac mini and loved it. I just got this for my 96th birthday because it said it was iOS compatible up to the Sonoma OS. My daughter just came to help me get it downloaded and we both were shocked when the pop up said Apple couldn't check it for malicious content. From reading other recent reviews, it appears to be money down the drain. It's a lesson learned the hard way...I guess. Never buy things that are unrefundable and unreturnable!

Mother and I were looking for something to replace Print Explosion and The Print Shop; both archaic and limited softwares. After doing a bit of digging, we found this one by Hallmark, and it works wonders! My mom has already made 10 cards on it, and she plans to make many more as time goes on. Definitely a great buy!
