Purchased this SW with hopes that it could be used to convert and burn MP4 video files onto a DVD disk which can be played on a standard NTSC TV with a garden variety DVD player. Maybe the software can do this. Maybe it does do this. Remains a mystery to me. No disk that I've burned to be playable as an NTSC DVD has worked. I'm probably missing some very basic understanding or instruction. There is very little helpful "how to" information in the provided technical documentation and almost no useful (or responded to) user help within the blog listings on NCH website. Aside from not being able to produce a usable DVD disk for me... I guess the SW might be great stuff.

Speaking of having No Surprises when you install a new S/W Package, you can try this one before you buy. It was tailored to my exact needs with the range of video editing I do. I got to use it for long enough to see that before I had to purchase. So I bought a registered copy. The electronic delivery is instantaneous, so that can't be beat. If this suite of video conversion tools is not for you, you can find that out before you even begin the ordering process.

Prism is fast and easy to use

Prism is fast and easy to use. It converts files from and to, just about any file type you may care to use. If you want the maxim performance from Prism, put Prism, the files you are converting and the destination folder all on the same drive. I use a solid state drive and have found that by doing so I have cut the process time half, if not better.

Difficult & confusing to use.

Spent hours trying to get this to convert dvd's to mp4. During the trial, was able to convert one, but after that, only got error messages. Tried this then that in trouble shooting, to no avail. Tried forums and found them even more confusing and unhelpful. Emailed cs, as couldn't locate any other way to contact them, they have yet to get back to me.

So I purchased WinX DVD Converter. Super easy to use and in the time I spent trying to figure out how to use or get Prism to work, I've converted a dozen videos. Maybe if you're a tech geek and understand all the techno mumbo jumbo, the Prism will work for you, but for the avg. Joe, buy WinX, you'll save yourself a boatload of grief, money, and wasted time.

N0t enough conversion parameters

AVC has more conversion factors and the conversion rate is faster using AVC. Otherwise, the program works fine. One thing that would be helpful is an estimated size on disk once all the conversion factors are configured (if that is even possible)

we are working with it. What we have done so far has been excellent, but there are some puzzles that need solving. While we have our videos converted, we do not find that all of them fit Adobe Premiere Elements which may cause us to need another program. We do not wish to purchase another program, so have to figure out how to make this one work!! However, we like challenges and will make this work, it will just take time.

Easy to use.

This product is very easy to use. It does a fantastic job of converting dvd's to an equivalent digital format that has almost zero loss of clarity in the picture as well as the sound.
