- LeopardLoveGreat Cooler with Slight KinkI was looking for a very specific wine cooler. I wanted one that was a similar height and depth as my cabinets and allowed for bottles to be stored on the side as well as standing (for the ones that are opened an not finished as I haven’t been able to find wine stoppers that don’t leak). I also wanted to purchase within a certain price point and this one fit the criteria.
The Pros: nice size, keeps the set temperature, allows for standing bottles (I removed 2 shelves), and an almost perfect fit. I’ve read reviews about the buttons not working but I believe people just didn’t understand the instructions and don’t know how to work it. You have to hold the lightbulb button before any function. For example, if you want to turn the light on, you hold the button til you hear the beep, the temp will flash, and then you press the bulb again and the blue light will be on. Same thing when you want to change the temp. Hold the light bulb til you hear the beep, the temp will flash, and then press the up or down arrow until you reach the desired temperature. The design is very sleek and I love the blue light.
Cons: I believe I received a faulty cooler because I first had abnormally loud noise. I have a mini fridge in my office so I’m very familiar with the low humming noise that these things make, but it was more of a hum mixed with a very noticeable “whooshing” sound. I contacted customer service with videos and they gave me a credit for the inconvenience. I figured it was a noise I could live with since the tv drowns it out and it’s in the living room. However, I started to hear this weird popping sound. It happens randomly and just sounds like bang. Of course everytime I tried to catch it on video, I couldn’t. It just so happened to make the noise when I was making a social media video so you could hear in the background. Again, contacted customer service. They advised that it was likely the compressor. I honestly didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning and receiving a replacement so they kindly offered an additional partial refund that I will use to pay someone to check it out. I looked this up on google and it’s surprisingly not uncommon.
Bottom Line: Great product for the price. I haven’t seen any other reviews that mentioned the popping sound so assuming this isn’t common among purchasers, and also assuming that their operating buttons aren’t broken and that they just haven’t figured out how to use, I would 100% recommend purchasing. Without the popping sound, I would’ve given 5 stars. The customer service was also superb. They respond swiftly via email and followed up via phone calls and text. Tammy - lizzybennetNOT a 4 bottle wine fridge**Updating after using for 24hrs: The unit is quite loud with lots of pops and cracking noises to the point that it scares my cats. The unit is set to 55 degrees but there is ice forming inside and the wine is bitter cold. I have been in contact with the manufacturer and they insist that I can fit 4 bottles inside - depending on the size of the bottles. The bottles you see in my photo are standard 750ml bottles. So the image they show you has either been faked or they are showing half-bottles. The seller offered me a 30% refund - then a 50% refund. But since seeing how poorly the temperature is maintained and the ice forming after 24hrs, I am in the process of returning the item for a full refund. Would give this zero stars if Amazon would let me.**
Original review: I haven't even plugged the fridge in yet and I don't like it. This is advertised as a 4 wine bottle mini fridge, and the seller shows multiple images of 4 wine bottles standing upright behind the closed door. It is literally impossible to store 4 wine bottles in this fridge because the entire lower, back half of the interior is taken up with the compressor unit. You can only store 2 wine bottles in this fridge in the upright position. Please look at my photos to see what I mean. Thought the price was too good to be true. It's pretty big and clunky to only store 2 bottles. The interior has a horrible odor. The left side of the exterior is covered in large unsightly stickers. I peeled them off, but they left a lot of sticky residue. The fridge comes with a fire hazard warning. What a hunk of Made in China junk. Key is that it is very quiet. Many reviews of others said they were noisy. All reviews on this model stated very quiet and it is!
- J. S. NelsonVery loud popping soundI have had this fridge for a little over a year now and use it in a seasonal home so not used year round. First the positive, it holds a lot of cans and water bottles which is why I purchased it. Second, I have the temp set to 36 and it cools to that temp (fridge is inside). Now for the negative. The fridge does make gurgling sounds which I don't think is a major issue; however, about every 30 minutes the fridge makes a very loud popping sound. For a while I thought it was someone banging on my house. I do not have the fridge touching any walls so that is not the issue. I am not sure if this happens to all the fridges but it is concerning.
