  • More Than Frank
Like many, I met Tim Curry in that elevator, wearing those shoes. This charming memoir reminds me that he is so much more than Frank.

Not a celebrity tell-all by any means, the author takes us through his life, from childhood to chair, with his distinctive English voice, charm, and sly wit. It was fun to learn (and see in the appendix) of the many, many theatre, film, and voice performances of Mr Curry, and to realize the great depth and breadth of his talents, interests, and incidents.

It was especially sweet to remember some of his several albums and the range of the rock artistry they contained; Tim Curry’s skill in packing his songs with emotion and energy always made those tunes among my favorites for a needed jolt at work, sewing in my attic in the 1980’s as I built my little apparel business.

My overall impression of the memories and the man presented in Vagabond, though, reflects the book’s title: a restless traveler who spends most of his time alone, searching inside himself for a sense of fulfillment and belonging. I find a hint of the bittersweet throughout the reminiscing as when Curry does not speak much of intimate relationships, yet hopes he will still fall in love again.

The book had tendrils, anchoring memories that took me back to some wonderful times and adventures of my youth; thank you Tim Curry for gently sharing your story and reminding me how your life and tunes have overlapped with my own.
  • Vagabond. A wonderful peak into such an interesting mans life.
A wonderful peak into such an interesting mans life. I'm so grateful this was released and have been looking forward to it for months. It's honest, warm, at times, sad, very matter of fact and charmingly funny. It didn't disappoint. Beautifully written and highly recommended.
  • Tim Curry Is An Inspiration
Tim Curry is endlessly entertaining, quietly brilliant, and disarmingly honest. I adore him, and this glimpse behind the curtain is deeply inspiring. Vagabond reminds us that even legends are beautifully human — and that we can take what life hands us and turn it into something powerful and positive.
  • An enjoyable read
It was great to read about the many roles and projects Tim Curry took part in. His philosophy and positive attitude toward life's ups and downs was refreshing.
  • There's more to Tim than you think. ;)
I listened to the audible book of Tim's biography. You can tell he's had a stroke, but his wit and mind is still there. He has had a very interesting life that molded him into a great actor. I didn't know he could sing. I really never considered him singing in the Rocky Horror picture show. But after listening to the book, I found his performance in Pirates of Penzance. It was a great book about his life.
  • Excellent, well written, hard to put down.
I'm only on page 52 at the moment, and this book is really difficult to put down and get some sleep! It's interesting right from the start, and I think anybody that is an actor or aspiring to be should read this book. He brings up some very valid points early on, I can't wait to see what else is in store. I've been a fan of his acting, singing and dancing since I was a teen. I'm so glad he released this book and I'm delighted to have it now. Cute pictures of him as a youngster, too!
  • What a Thoroughly Amazing Person
This is such an awesome read! Mr. Curry is eloquent, funny, and fascinating. I learned so much about him and his approach to acting. I almost finished the whole book in one setting, but I had to get some sleep!
  • I love Tim Curry!
I have loved Tim Curry as Dr. Frankenfurter, the Devil in "Legend", and as the scariest clown in Pennywise (until American Horror Story came along many, many years later)!!! His life story and progression as an actor through the years was very touching. What a wonderful gentleman and considerate soul! I thank him for giving me a glimpse of his life.
