- MichelleWorks great and inflates quickly!This little thing really works and is amazing! I live in Minnesota so always have to add air to tires every winter. I did all 4 tires in less than 10 minutes. It is very easy to use. It plugs into car outlet for power and set the desired tire pressure and it automatically shuts off when reached. I had a different one that was battery charged and took forever to inflate or battery would be dead when I needed to use. I love that this one is small and easy to store or carry in car.

- ChaseWhere has this been all my driving life?I love this thing. Specifically:
-The hose threads on to your valve stem. No need to push it on to the valve stem, then you misalign it, air comes out, you reposition, etc. Instead, you screw it on, then use both your hands for other things. This *really* comes in handy with wheels where the valve stems are hard to access, like motorcycles.
-You can set the tire pressure you want. This has been a very reliable feature for me. Set the pressure, start the pump, then the pump shuts off at that pressure. No babysitting. Very nice.
-The cigarette adapter is great, especially if you have a cigarette outlet in two areas of your car - like the trunk and the front seat (like Jeeps do).
-The compressor is very portable, so I keep it in my trunk at all times.
One downside:
-The pump gets pretty hot after extended use. Particularly the metal nub on the cigarette adapter itself, which might surprise you. Let it cool off after use!
Overall: Highly recommended. No more hunting around for a gas station with a working air compressor. I purchased this a year ago and came back to review it. - Peter OGood, but short lifeI purchased this less than three years ago. I think the inflation time is a little misleading, since it operates a little slower than advertised, but it did the job and did it well. Unfortunately, my model just suddenly stopped working this week when I needed it most. I had a bungee cord hook blow out my tire and had to use my spare (full-sized truck tire filled to 35psi). After installing the spare and trying to inflate it, the machine kept stopping and would only work if I was holding the cord in the perfect spot. After a minute of filling, I could hear the sound of the pump change, along with a "hiss". Unfortunately, the pump was still running, but actively draining my spare of all air. Luckily I caught it before it got below 20psi and could limp my truck to the gas station to use their machine.
Long story short, it lived for nearly 3 years, served me well, then died when I needed it most. Finding a gas station with an air pump is always a challenge, and they’re often not free, either. This little guy lives in my trunk, and I just set him to the correct pressure and attach him to each tire, and it fills to that pressure and shuts off. Works like a charm! And the other morning after a cold snap, my wife’s tire pressure light went on, so out came this little guy and her tires were filled in no time in our own driveway. An absolutely great investment!
- Yvonne TIT'S SO EASY TO USE!!!I have a very slow leak in one of my tires. I am 73 y/o female and can never get the gas station air hose thingy to sit correctly on the tire nipple. I guess it's just me, but all it does is bleed out more air from the tire. I checked Car and Driver reviews for easy portable tire inflators and one of the recommendations was this AstroAl product. What sold me on it was that it has a screw-on nipple hose and a 12V cigarette plug, which works just fine with my 2013 hatchback.
Well, to make a long story short, all I had to do was plug it in the car and screw the hoe onto the tire, set the desired psi, and turn it on. It inflated my tire from 21psi to 35psi in about 5 minutes. Presto! All done!
So if you have a cigarette lighter in your vehicle and want a lightweight portable and compact tire inflator, which is easily fits in your car, I recommend this AstroAl product. It's so easy for this 73 year old lady, with a bad back, to use! - Joe TaireiWorks well and auto-shut-off is very convenientThis air pump replaces an older type that was noisy and slow. It's not as fast as a gas station air pump, but it lets you set the exact pressure so you don't have to stand there and watch it. Just turn it on and walk away. It reaches the target pressure, then shuts itself off.
The hose tip screws onto the tire nozzle, as opposed to the latch mechanism most pumps use. It's easy enough to attach, and I find it's a bit less wasteful of air while detaching.
The device was thoughtfully provided with rubber feet, so it doesn't bounce and rattle while pumping. With my old one, I used to have to place a rubber mat under it to prevent it bouncing ridiculously all over the place.
The power cord is pretty long, and plugs into a standard cigarette lighter socket.
I have been using this machine about once a month for the past 9 months and it seems pretty reliable so far. I would recommend it.
