It is very compact and has a magnetic mounting base should you choose to use it. I took at least four tries to find the correct spot to place the antenna to receive strong television signals. I live 45 miles South of Boston, Massachusetts and once I found the best space for the antenna, it worked like a charm as it received 41 over-the-air crystal clear local television channels. It included the 3 major television networks and many other independent channels too! This antenna was key to receiving free over-the-air television and not depending on expensive cable television!

- SDMONEY SAVER & MORE!If I would have known how many channels were still available for free, much less how easy it would be to install an antenna, I would’ve done this so so long ago. Ages ago. I barely paid attention to the install instructions, although they were so very easy. No long booklet of 15 different languages, simple steps that were very user-friendly and how to get set up quickly.
The antenna itself is smaller than I expected, which I was happy about. I didn’t pay attention to the measurements listed. I thought it needed to be tall for a signal, I thought it was going be some odd looking thing I was going to have in a weird space out in the open. That could potentially look phallic. ???? When in actuality, it is so small that it blends in with decor that I have around my television and you can’t even see it. I had no issues with having to find a spot for it to be a clear picture. The first place I put it. It worked perfectly with crystal clear reception. I don’t know if this is because I have windows in my living room, but I was just shocked and so happy about how easy it was to connect. The instructions say to have it as high as possible, so right now it is on a bookshelf, but, again, because it’s so discreet in size you can’t even see it mixed in with my bookshelf decor.
These streaming companies that charge $90 a month JUST so you can see local news, I don’t understand how it’s legal according to FCC. Which, by the way, I checked, the FCC doesn’t regulate pricing of any kind for streaming services, nor what they offer. That’s another topic, but how is that legal? I’m currently on limited income and canceled all streaming services that aren’t somehow discounted by other membership, etc.. I also had some of my streaming services on auto draft and didn’t realize how expensive they had become. Ignorance is bliss, actually no it’s not.
Even when I get into a better financial situation, I will not pay for those streaming services again. I’m able to watch local news, which means I can watch for the tornado warnings that I will have this afternoon. As opposed to some of the other “free live TV” streaming that shows “local news” for, yes, I counted, 22 other cities that mean nothing to my local safety or community.
One time investment of $19, vs minimum of $89 a month. No counting the free coverage of some football games when the cheapest o found for just one sports channel was $20 a month.
The only semi trick to setting it up was really based on my TV, and it had nothing to do with this product. Even then it just took 2 to 5 minutes of patience and reading through the e-manual on my Samsung. Hint: you have to find the feature that has your television search for all updated channels, no matter the connectivity. I also thought that I would have to change the source or input on my remote when I wanted to watch local TV from the antenna coverage, no it loaded into my TVs free channel lineup. So no flipping over even from source/input.
Wish I would’ve done this years ago, and certainly will keep it no matter when better financial days ???????? come my way. - MDJJ89This is a great little antenna.This works great. I think we got about 50 channels, most of them niche category channels and retro channels. But the main reason we got this was to compensate for no ABC on YouTube TV. The local network channels come in great. As far as the actual antenna, it’s relatively small so it’s not an eyesore like some of the others I’ve seen. Also, didn’t have to have it in a window or a shelf. The tv is on a stand and it’s sits out of sight behind it. Worth every penny.

My fiancée bought this same one for our basement Tv. He said connecting it was super easy, it just screwed right in and sits right behind the TV. After being able to get 36… YES 36!! Local channels including sports and my shows. We were sold!
I ended up purchasing another one for my upstairs TV so we can have both TVs playing sports at the same time for when we host.
There is no static what’s so ever. It never cuts in and out, the picture quality is great, you’d never know your using an antenna!
If you have a roku TV or a smart TV where you cannot get local channels, you NEED this! Don’t pay for subscription for games or the TV show you know is on every Tuesday night, get one of these. - Bradly A.Works like a charmI bought this item because it was highly rated on some consumer review websites. My TV is on the opposite side of the room from the window, so it is not possible to put this near the window. I placed it on the TV stand next to the TV, round up the cord a few times behind the TV, and hit scan for channels. Every single local channel comes in crystal clear, and my antenna is at least 20 ft away from the nearest window.
The previous antenna I was using would not pick up one of the local channels (Fox) and another of the basic channels was very glitchy (ABC). With the HIDB TV Antenna, neither of these channels are an issue anymore.
For full disclosure's sake, I am pretty near the center of town where I'm sure I get a stronger signal than those out in the country. For my situation though, this antenna worked perfectly.
