The biggest win here is the RGBIC tech. Forget lamps that can only show one color at a time. This thing can display multiple colors simultaneously along the strip, making the light effects look unbelievably smooth and vibrant. Whether I'm looking for a chill, subtle glow for movie night or a crazy, multi-colored lightning storm for a party, this lamp delivers. It throws light up the wall, bouncing it around the room, making the whole space feel instantly upgraded.
The setup was a joke, in a good way. It took about a few minutes to snap the sections together and plug it in. The real fun starts with the Govee Home app.
Seriously, the app is fantastic. You get access to hundreds of preset scenes that are genuinely cool, like "Sunset Glow" or "Firefly Forest." Plus, the music sync feature is wild. Watching the colors pulse and shift perfectly to the beat of your playlist never gets old. It’s so responsive it feels like the lamp is listening.
It’s stylishly minimal, takes up barely any space, and gives you so much control over the atmosphere of your room. If you want to dive into smart, customizable lighting without spending a fortune, stop scrolling and just grab this lamp. It’s easily one of my favorite recent purchases.

I bought these as simple lamps! Didn't need the big or function for tv. I also havent found myself loving too many color wave animations or music options because the ledsarent as smooth and seamless as id like. Its noticeable when each led changes. I will say, for a lamp that has a variety of features and color options for the price are outstanding. The app although I wish this used a remote, is easy to setup and the instructions are clear. Glad I have these and theyre light enough to move around from room to room!

- John MorganGreat Light, Disappointing Design FlawThe lighting quality of this RGB smart lamp is excellent—bright, vivid, and customizable. The companion app is generally intuitive and user-friendly, though creating more advanced color patterns can be a bit clunky. If lighting performance were the only consideration, this would easily be a 5-star product.
Unfortunately, the physical design leaves something to be desired. Perhaps I received a defective unit, but the LED strip doesn't sit flush inside the pole. The pole is assembled from multiple connecting segments that must be screwed together from the inside. As a result, the strip bulges slightly at each connection point. While this isn’t noticeable from directly behind the lamp, it becomes obvious from any angled view—something clearly shown in the photos I’ve attached.
For a product at this price point (around $100), this kind of design oversight is disappointing. It's particularly frustrating that the issue isn’t visible in any of the product’s marketing images, which feels a bit misleading.
I’ve decided to keep the lamp because I love the lighting itself and have placed it in a corner where the imperfections are mostly hidden. Still, I believe Govee should improve the structural design—or at the very least, represent it more transparently in their advertising. - BlackhawkA very fun room or area light, works well easy to assemble.A few comments-assembled very easily, good design. Sturdy enough, good height. at full intensity throws enough light to fill a small room 10 x 10 maybe, more of an area light than a whole-room light for a big room but that's understood. works well, the assortment of features accessible with the app is a bit overwhelming, you better know your way around computer menus, but the amount of flexibility through the app is pretty amazing, almost like working with an advanced photo editor! 3 criticisms-please if you are going to include a paper manual, stop making the print size 2-point fonts! This is ridiculous and i have pretty much 20-20 vision and still need a magnifying lens (I use my smartphone camera app). Yes details are online but then, oh well. 2) the AC power cableis generously long, but the 24V switchbox csble is ridiculously short-you need to keep the switchbox 2-3 feet from the lamp. wouldn't be a problem, but you need to physically turn this on before you can use the app for remote control, sort of defeats the convenience of using a remote. If you are sitting in a chair or in bed, this cable isn't long enough to reach from there. and one more technical criticism in terms of partnering with Alexa or other such systems-thre manual mentions "matter" but then drops the ball by providing no explanation as to what this is. Easy to look up, but the manual by not providing enough info, leaves me guessing as to whether I need to use "matter" which really only a protocol-a set of computer instructions-to unify many remote controlled devices. this light really only needs to partner with alexa or google to work although I haven't tried that yet. So far, pretty impressive-a little pricey but a very interesting, innovative idea. I finally have an Alexa-enabled lighting device that measures up to my baby brother's completely automated house!
