- Tim StromsnessOverall great camerasExcellent cost for a double pack. When 1 alone around me was almost the same cost. Photos are clear during the day and even at night and clean. Very rugged design. Love how you can control everything from the app
- cynthia schaeferGreat value and works wellThese work great. I had purchased trail cams before and couldn't get them to work. These are easy, recordings are high quality and the solar is keeping them going well.
- Justin B.Junkity trash - poor support - gimmicky featuresI’m sure the price us attractive, and if you plan on using one season than it might be worth losing your money.
1st - if you’re 32GB included as card fills up- no more pictures. Almost every other cam manufacturer has the ability to use DVR mode and replace old photos with new ones, even format the card via remote cell, not SPYPOINT. Get ready to drive to your cameras at the worst possible time…
2nd - cameras are ultra sensitive to location, wind, sun, shadows but only randomly, and especially if you’re not on an unlimited plan.
3rd - there’s no live view or on demand option. If you’re walking to a bow stand and you want to see if you’re about to blow out any deer near a feeder, GL. The closest time to get photos is every two hours…
4th - if you camera is trigger happy your batteries are toast. Get a solar set up, but then get ready to have it work just long enough for you to walk away.
5th - to get sane functions of others like the ability to share camera with another person, identify and sort species, or even favorite/star photos they want more per month on top of the $30 that you’re going to be forced to pay because the camera will just take nonstop photos if not on unlimited.
6th - sometimes you’ll get a photo where the IR flash just doesn’t go off. Translation, black photo. You’re limited on the number of HD photos you can request, and since there’s no “on demand” function you’re going to wait two hours at least to get it. The HD photos are somewhat better.
Finally - you’re going to have to call support, their live chat is a joke. They’ll tell you they are looking into an issue and then restart the chat. Your call will not be answered, you will get an overseas call back and they will want you to have your camera in hand to do the dumbest troubleshooting possible. Is it plugged in, is the card that was working two days ago mysteriously incompatible or corrupt. Now you have to drive out to the camera, again. Then they tell you to format the card(only possible with camera in hand), everything works, then 4 hours later it stops sending photos. Remote troubleshooting is impossible and a giant waste of time.
I’m glad I have the Amazon warranty because these pieces of junk are going back to India. The photo quality is decent, but cell cameras are meant to be remote and untouched. Ironically I received two different branded ones as gifts and realized just how terrible these are. - KMcDGreat productEasy to set up and works great. To get a reasonable amount of pictures you will need to pay for a subscription to Spypoint. Also, only use the recommended lithium batteries or it won't work properly.
- MKZGood price, good camera, good cell service.Good cameras, price, and cell service. Will send black pictures at least once a day, no software updates available so not sure why they are black. Cameras are in a very remote area and we have no issues with synch and sending pictures.
- Diana CovingtonGood camera for the priceI bought this for my property to watch during our rebuild of our house. We have a wooded area and wanted to keep an eye on things especially at night. The camera was easy to set up. We did get the unlimited monthly plan as the free one is 100 photos a month. The included strap held it nicely around a tree. The resolution is good. The SD card and lithium battery are included in this package.
- mikrace171A tale of two camerasI wanted to get some security cameras that I could place on some new land I was planning to buy soon so started looking at options and decided to test out the Spypoint trailcam option around the house for a few months. I saw the mixed reviews but they seem like a potentially perfect option for keeping an eye on some new, remote land.
I ordered the 2 pack of Flex-M cameras and after a month of use, I have 2 completely opposite reviews. Overall, they take a picture and you get 2 versions, one is transmitted over the cell system and offers an ok picture but minimal detail BUT if you need a better picture, the one saved to the microSD card is high quality, but of course if the camera is far away, that is a problem, but at least it is there. The night vision is ok but vulnerable to light glare. The problem I have is that one camera has been rellable and long battery life and no issues at all but the other has sent messages 2-3 times a day stating bad SD card, AND low battery. The power indication is all over the place, fluctuating between 19 and 85%. I swapped the cards and power packs and the faulty warnings stayed with the one camera so it is defective, BUT still functions normally, minus the faulty warnings.
With the option of the free service plan and 1 out of 2 cameras operating great, I will probably get a 3rd and see what the normal reliability is but with one camera being defective, I do have to be cautious, and recommend the same to anyone thinking of buying one. You might get the junk version, you might get a good one.
A quick update to this would be that I replaced the batteries on both cameras Wednesday and the good camera reads 98% and the bad camera has already sent a warning and currently reads 57%. I won't be ordering a 3rd camera without considering other brands instead. Even the good camera doesn't have great battery life, lasts 1-2 months depending on use so either need to get the solar panel or go with another brand. - Amazon CustomerEasy set up and quality product.Great photo quality. App is on point as well. Just wish we had better genetics. Awesome game cam!
