Installation is incredibly simple—just twist out the old filter, pop this one in, and you’re good to go. Within a few minutes, the water flow returns to normal and the taste improves noticeably.
The water comes out clean, fresh, and without any of the subtle aftertastes you sometimes get when a filter starts to wear down. Ice cubes look clearer too, which is a nice bonus. I also like that Whirlpool provides reliable filtration without slowing down the dispenser, something cheaper off-brand filters often fail at.

But I guess you have to pay more to worry about what you're putting in your body. Not sure what you're getting with the off-brand or what chemicals they are or not putting in there. Ugh, hurts the wallet, but the taste of the water is good at least

- LauraA good product if priceyI originally bought the "Filter 1" and had to return it. So be careful and make sure you buy the right one. This is expensive but I am assuming it is worth the cost. I had a hard time installing it because I think the old one in the house I moved to had not been changed for a long time. But once the old one was out it was really easy to install this filter -- the size was just right.
The water coming out of the filter seems fine. The water quality is good. In fact I am drinking it now!
There is one thing that worries me and the instructions as far as I know did not say to run water through it for several quarts like my old house's fridge filter. It worried me and so I did do that even though the instructions as far as I remember did not say it was needed. - Amazon Customer5X water flowFits and works perfectly in my Jenn Air Refrigerator.
