  • One of the best new R&B/Soul albums I've heard
Excellent album. Has a great throwback '50 '60s sound. Wonderful production with just slight intentional distortion on few tracks, which adds to the raw sound and emotional appeal. There is a lot of doo-wop and old soul influence, to the point where this album plays as if it would have been at home if it came out 40 years ago, and that is not a bad thing. The LP and its presentation are high quality as well. The disk is translucent red, and very thick vinyl. The inner sleeve is thicker stock than the outer sleeves of many other LPs. This album is one of the best new albums I've heard in year, and is near flawless. There are no added fluff tracks, just 10 raw, yet well thought out tracks of pure soul.
  • Great Album With a Classic Sound
This is a great album with a classic Motown sound. One of the best albums in years. It’s unfortunate he stepped away from this sound. Hopefully he’ll come back around to it. I’ll be first in line if he does.
  • Love Leon Bridges! Such Great Modern Soul
Leon Bridges has such a great voice, and this album is really beautiful. Adds a great piece to our collection of vinyl records.
  • Great quality
Great quality in every sense and this an amazing album!
A great adding to my vinyl collection that's just starting. I wanted something from this era and this fit the bill perfectly.
  • This album is reminiscent of some of my favorite Motown albums
This album is reminiscent of some of my favorite Motown albums, has solid elements of gospel, and yet has an x factor that sets it apart in a unique and compelling way. Leon Bridges' voice is smooth and has a wonderful depth, effortlessly carrying each song. The lyrics of every song tell a story, and the stories span a variety of heartfelt themes. I listened to this album for the first time while riding the subway to visit a family member - I sat outside after my commute was over so that I could listen to the rest of the album, it was so good. I highly recommend this for lovers of Motown, gospel, and story-telling artists.
  • Groovy tunes
I love his music. He would play on street corners in Dallas. Even now he still does that at random to stay connected.
  • So glad I did
A-freaking-mazing album!!! Full of soulful lyrics, his sound is incredible, you can tell this whole album is full of passion. This album gave me that feeling I get so rarely with new music - where I'm completely obsessed and can't listen to it enough. "River" has given me goose bumps every time I've listed to it. "Coming Home" and "Better Man" were the first two songs I listened to (heard on Pandora's Alabama Shakes radio) and are what caused me to buy this album. So glad I did. I love every single song on it, which doesn't happen often for me; I'll usually skip through certain songs each time I've the album on, but I gladly listen to every song on this album.
  • A modern artist with a nostalgic sound!
I'm very impressed with Leon Bridges! The first time I heard him a buddy of mine played Coming Home and asked me when I thought the song was recorded. I was about 50 years off! Lol. I've always been a fan of the older stuff, and this really tickles my fancy. Anyway, a very talented artist and I seriously see him going places! I hope to hear more from him in the future! As for the LP, I threw it on my turntable this morning for the first time, and the pop and crackle of vinyl makes it even more nostalgic. I'm glad I added this to my vinyl collection!
