- JCGood tool and good priceGreat product and price. Still using it today and all prices are holding up great. Accurate and easy to use.
- TrentONot bad. A great meter for field techs or good back-up to a clamp meterNot bad. Mid-tier capabilities with a great screen. Thinner than most full functional multimeters, side lead jacks allow for thinness, better portability without sacrificing safety or ability to change leads. As capable as my Fluke 117 but 1/3 the price and easier to pack. I would consider this to be the perfect back up to my Klein 810 Pro or for standalone use in a quick troubleshooting scenario. Nit picks include position of lead jacks right where my fingers hold the meter; lack of non-contact voltage sensing and a lack of a work light. Any two of those three would make it a 5/5.
- J. WeilerNice MultimeterI bought this Klein MM420 to replace a perfectly functional, 40 year old, Heath 2372 multimeter that I gave to my teen daughter for her electronics work (as I used it when I was her age). This Klein is nice! It's a rugged easy to use multimeter with all of the basics and a few bells and whistles. . It may not be a Fluke in decimal accuracy or its high price point (which is good because I have no use for either of those things) but it IS a Klein which is why I bought it.
- Fred GiaconiaComprehensive and Reliable Electrical Test Kit for Professionals and DIY EnthusiastsThe Klein Tools 69149P Electrical Test Kit is an excellent all-in-one solution for anyone looking to tackle electrical diagnostics at home or in a professional setting. With a solid reputation built over more than 160 years of experience, Klein Tools delivers a premium-quality kit that stands out for its performance, ease of use, and versatility. I’ve had the chance to use it for a few weeks now, and I’m truly impressed with the features it offers, especially given the convenience of having multiple essential tools in one compact set.
What’s Included in the Kit:
This kit comes with three primary tools:
MM300 Manual-Ranging Digital Multimeter
NCVT1P Non-Contact Voltage Tester
RT105 Receptacle Tester
Additionally, it includes test leads for the multimeter and batteries for both the voltage tester and the multimeter, which is a thoughtful touch that saves you time when setting up.
MM300 Digital Multimeter:
The MM300 multimeter is a versatile and reliable tool for measuring AC/DC voltage, DC current, and resistance. It supports up to 600V AC/DC voltage, 10A DC current, and 2MOhms resistance, making it suitable for a wide range of electrical tasks. The multimeter’s manual-ranging feature allows for precise adjustments based on what you're testing. For DIYers and professionals alike, the ability to perform multiple tests with one device is incredibly handy.
The continuity testing function is another fantastic feature of the MM300. It offers both visual and audible indicators, ensuring that you can easily identify whether there’s continuity in a circuit. This makes troubleshooting electrical issues significantly more efficient.
NCVT1P Non-Contact Voltage Tester:
The NCVT1P Non-Contact Voltage Tester is a standout feature of this kit. With this tester, you can detect AC voltage in cables, outlets, circuit breakers, light fixtures, and wires without the need for direct contact. This makes it incredibly safe and convenient to use when identifying live wires, especially in tight or hard-to-reach areas.
When no voltage is detected, the tester shows a green LED to indicate it's working. If it detects voltage, the LED turns red, and an audible tone sounds, providing immediate feedback. The tester works for voltages between 50 to 1000V AC, making it a reliable option for a wide variety of electrical systems.
RT105 Receptacle Tester:
The RT105 Receptacle Tester is a great tool for identifying common wiring faults in electrical outlets. It can detect open ground, open hot, open neutral, and hot/ground reversed wiring issues. The tester uses LED lights to clearly show the wiring configuration, ensuring that you can quickly spot problems that could potentially cause electrical hazards.
However, it is worth noting that the RT105 does not identify more complex wiring issues, such as multiple hot wires or a poor-quality ground. For most household and basic electrical tasks, though, this tester is more than sufficient.
Durability and Quality:
As expected from Klein Tools, the quality of the tools in this kit is top-notch. The multimeter feels sturdy in hand, and the non-contact voltage tester has a robust build that instills confidence while in use. The receptacle tester is equally well-made, with clear and easily visible indicators. Klein Tools is known for manufacturing high-quality tools that professionals trust, and this kit is no exception.
Convenience and Ease of Use: Each tool in this set is incredibly user-friendly. The multimeter’s manual ranging is intuitive, and the large, easy-to-read display ensures you can make accurate readings with minimal effort. The voltage tester is straightforward to operate, requiring only a simple scan of the area you wish to test. The receptacle tester has clear indicators that make it easy to understand wiring issues at a glance. This ease of use makes the kit suitable for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts.
The inclusion of test leads for the multimeter and batteries for the tester is a bonus, and the tools are all compact enough to store easily in a toolbox or on a workbench.
Value for Money:
The Klein Tools 69149P Electrical Test Kit provides excellent value for money. It offers a comprehensive set of diagnostic tools that are crucial for anyone working with electricity. The quality of the tools, combined with their practical features, makes this kit an outstanding investment for both beginners and experienced users. You’re getting a reliable and well-built set of tools that can handle a variety of electrical tasks without the need to buy individual devices.
Conclusion: If you’re looking for a reliable and easy-to-use electrical test kit, I highly recommend the Klein Tools 69149P Electrical Test Kit. The combination of the MM300 multimeter, NCVT1P non-contact voltage tester, and RT105 receptacle tester makes it an all-in-one solution for detecting and troubleshooting electrical issues. The tools are built to last, and their user-friendly features ensure that they are suitable for both professionals and DIY users. For anyone who needs a versatile and durable electrical testing kit, this one is hard to beat.

Like it so far. I am not too sure of its accuracy yet because I have not used it for more than checking battery life and a few things on continuity. Pretty solid and a good buy for the price. Not great, but good. I like the nightlight and the memory capabilities so far.
Update: After using it a bit, it is pretty basic and its accuracy is a little off at times. For the price and my needs right now, I like it quite a bit. Just stuff around the house like to test a light switch for load and I have repaired a few aurge protectors with it. A solid purchase for my general needs.
