- Alex CPerfect and plumber approved.So did not realize you can use a bike pump to blow air in it. Work just fine. A plumber came and never heard of it and used it. Really helped clean up the crud after 13 years of not being drained. Fit well and super easy to put on.
- ROB R.Works as describedI used this on an electrical water heater and it did a great job eliminating precipitated minerals in the tank. It's very easy to use and really makes it so you don't have any excuses to not flush your tank. Having used it once so far, I'd recommend also installing a full flow drain valve in conjunction with this tool. Mine water heater didn't have a full flow valve so it took a little longer to get all the sediment out of the tank; that will be remedied and speed up the process with a full flow valve.
- SCOWorks well if you need itIf you have an old nasty water heater and you want to knock the sediment from the bottom loose and drain it, this is a great help. However, you may not need this. You can probably break loose sediment by turning on your cold water when the heater is mostly empty. But it does work - you can use a compressor or any air inflator to push air into your heater to dislodge sediment. I think this would be a necessity for a heater that has a heavy sediment accumulation. An added benefit for all maintenance scenarios is the clear window that allows you to see how dirty the water is as it comes out. It's well-made, not cheap junk - though plastic, it is high quality and should last a long time.

It's easy to hook up and use. I just ran a hose to the customers sump pump and cracked the drain. I like that I can see what's coming out and I can close the valve So the customer can see the crude coming out. I wasn't able to get any sediment out, maybe none that was stuck? I was able to flush a lot of nasty floating stuff. After the tank was about half empty, I hooked up a bike bump to push air in. At first I wondered if it was working, didn't see any results. After a few pumps I noticed the chamber had less air and I could hear the bubbles in the tank. This still didn't produce a river of rust BUT, it did knock a ton of the clear floaties out. Either way, the customer was happy! My only gripe and it may be just the pump; I had a fair amount water leak out around the air valve. Maybe 3 or 4 ounces, not a big deal. Would I buy it again? For sure. After 1 flush it paid for itself.
