- S kaufmanCleans all stains!!! Buy it!I think I’ve used this 10x in a month between our kids and puppy. It is amazing! Cleans our new carpet and so far has gotten all stains up. I would give it 10 stars if I could. It’s easy to use and the self clean feature keeps it from getting gross on the inside.
- Midwest in MIBuy this!This is it! Having read and listened to reviews even on YouTube etc, I was able to discern which Carpet Upholstery & Area Rug Cleaner we would try. This met all of our "marks" if you will for what we were looking for. Good suction, power, light weight, and it cleans beautifully. Easy to put together, to use, and is so portable for our needs. We have, "had" light dirt build-up in a couple of areas, mind you, I watched dirtier stains/spots being cleaned with this machine & now I know that those videos or examples of how this machine cleans harder/deeper dirt & it actually does. You can see the removal dirty water etc as it is cleaning. Several attachments, no need for more & yes, I did view another Co's products that are based in my town where I live, but they did not compare to this one. It doesn't come with a storage bag, as I knew, so no worries, I simply ordered the bag (product info below) and this bag was spacious enough to hold my machine, so I'm set. Even though the bag states Bissell, THIS BAG holds my Shark StainStriker beautifully.

The instructions are pretty straight forward, just make sure you are filing the right tank up with solution. I messed up and was going to put the diluted shampoo into the extraction tank because I wasn't paying attention to exact wording in the instructions. But once I got it all set up I had several spots around the house from owning 2 indoor dogs. I tackled the big job first, my dog puked the night before and wasn't feeling well. So I had a couple spots from that and as in the pictures you can see that it all came up. Now full disclosure I did spray the area with a name brand stain remover and let it set before using this spot vacuum. But it all came up and I was impressed with how much 'dirt' and debris came up. The suction on this thing is great for my purposes and I did not have any water leaks. The spray is wide so it covers great on small areas (which this is intended for). I did use warm water in the water tank with the solution but nothing I would consider HOT at all. There is no heater on this unit. For the money I think this is a great value, I love the self cleaning feature, makes clean up a snap. Just empty the debris tank and rinse out then your ready for the next go. I did get mine on sale for about a Benjamin so look for sales. I will be keeping this unit and using it from time to time on doggy issues around the house. I have a carpet machine for any real big issues or just to spring clean the carpets already.
- YipeeAlmost perfect cleanerFor many years I’ve always had the little green machine—pet parents, you know the one I’m talking about. For ages the little green machine was the only thing in existence, I had no other option. I’ve been through a couple little green machines because they get nasty and smelly. They can’t be cleaned due to all the nooks and crannies along with limited accessibility. They are heavy and cumbersome. So when the time came to get another cleaner, I decided to look around and see if something better was available. After much consideration, I went with the Shark Stain Striker HairPro Pet, and the main reason was because the entire thing comes apart and can be cleaned out. I’ve had it for almost a year and so far it’s been great. I wasn’t sure at first about using the yellow rubber nubby textured cleaning head as opposed to a scrubbing brush head, but it actually works so much better than a brush head and it rinses off so easily! Brushes allow hair to become entangled in the bristles and is a pain to clean. So now I’m a fan of the rubber cleaning heads. I love that the entire sprayer head comes apart and I can just rinse it all out, especially the clear window where I can see the cleaning solution getting sucked up. In my little green machine, that window is all clogged with hair and it can’t be cleaned out because it doesn’t come apart. The Shark dirty water tank removes super easy and is so easy to rinse out and there’s no nooks and crannies. The hair catch trap works amazingly well and allows me to throw the hair away instead of it all going down the drain. The solution tank is also easy to fill. I like the compact size, which is easier for me to carry and not as heavy as my former cleaning machine. It does a fantastic job of cleaning. I’ve had to clean up thrown up cat food(both wet and dry) muddy prints, and a huge amount of mustard that was spilled on the carpet, which is white unfortunately(not my choosing, it was there when we bought the house and someday will be replaced with more practical flooring ????). Overall, this is a well made machine and cleaning up pet messes is a lot easier. WHAT I DON’T LIKE ::: There are some things about Shark Stain Striker that could be improved. The electrical cord REALLY needs to be LONGER! Some messes aren’t conveniently located within reach of an electrical outlet. The hose needs to be removable for cleaning. Even with using the “self cleaning” function, I can still see some bits of hair and debris in the hose, which probably is hung up on the ridges of the hose. I’m concerned that over time the hose might get nasty and grow mildew because it can’t be cleaned as effectively. The instructions have contradictory information that needs cleared up. The solution tank says to NEVER use hot water. The instruction manual says to “never use very hot water, even from the faucet. Never use boiling water. Never use microwaved water. Warm water is okay.” The solution bottle says to USE HOT WATER. Shark is not clear on what water temperature I should be using. Shark also says to only use Shark Deep Clean Pet solution, but then they also say to use ONLY Shark branded solutions (plural). They make it sound like I can only use the Deep Clean Pet solution and they also seem to say any solution is fine as long as it is Shark Branded. I DO NOT LIKE the Deep Clean Pet solution because it smells strongly like BEER. I don’t want my carpets smelling like beer. So now I’ve been using Shark Deep Clean Pro solution, which should still be OK to use because it’s Shark brand, and they even have a picture of a cat and dog on the bottle, so that implies it cleans up pet messes as well. It definitely smells better than the Deep Clean Pet solution.
- A. P.This is the one!! Great for pet ownersWhen opened the box, initially I was overwhelmed and intimidated. However, after reading the manual, it was very simple to use. I ended up cleaning more than I had planned. I did my sectional, recliner/rocker and dining room chairs. It works really really well! It picks up dirt and pet hair with powerful extract suction and I like that you can actually see what’s coming up. The sprayer puts out a good amount. You can’t really see it but I put my hand under the sprayer to feel exactly how much was coming out and it provides good coverage. I didn’t have any leakage issues. The included solutions work well for cleaning, odor eliminating and deodorizing. It’s very simple to clean the soiled water tank. Everything looks and smells fresh and new. This is awesome to use in between professional cleanings. I can get them less often now if I use this machine on a regular basis. I highly recommend!
