- Kyle ToothmanMy turtles love this stuffI've been purchasing this turtle food for a while now because my turtles really seem to love the taste of it; does not have a strong oder- actually smells good, stays fresh, is not artificially colored, and keeps my turtles healthy. Easy to use; as soon as my turtles see me pick up the jar they swim to the top of the tank waiting for me to throw some in. They don't dirty the tank; they're low priced, but great quality.
- Tino BrunoExcellent Food for Growing Aquatic Turtles!I recently started using Zoo Med Aquatic Turtle Food Growth Formula (7.5 oz) for my turtles, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the results! Here’s why I’m giving it a solid 5-star review:
✅ Perfect for Growth: This formula is specifically designed for growing aquatic turtles, and I’ve seen a noticeable difference in the size and health of my turtles since switching to it. The food is high in protein, which helps support their growth and development, making it ideal for young turtles or those in the growing phase.
✅ Quality Ingredients: I’m very impressed with the quality of the ingredients in this food. It contains a blend of natural fishmeal, shrimp, and other essential nutrients that my turtles love. I feel confident knowing they’re getting a well-rounded diet that supports their overall health and shell development.
✅ Easy to Feed: The pellet size is perfect for my turtles, and they easily take to it. The food sinks to the bottom, which is ideal for aquatic turtles that feed in the water. I’ve had no issues with them eating it, and they seem to enjoy it every time.
✅ Promotes Healthy Shells and Growth: Since I’ve started using this formula, I’ve noticed that my turtles’ shells look healthier, and they’re more active overall. The food seems to support strong bone and shell development, which is a huge benefit for my turtles’ long-term health.
✅ No Waste or Mess: Unlike some other turtle foods that can get messy in the water, Zoo Med’s Growth Formula is easy to clean up after. There’s very little waste, and my tank stays cleaner for longer, which is a big plus for me.
✅ Great Value: The 7.5 oz container lasts a good amount of time, and the cost is very reasonable for the quality of the food. It’s definitely a great value for the health of my turtles, and I feel it’s worth the investment.
Overall, Zoo Med Aquatic Turtle Food Growth Formula is a fantastic choice for anyone with growing aquatic turtles. It’s packed with high-quality ingredients, promotes healthy growth and shell development, and is easy to feed. If you want your turtles to thrive, I highly recommend giving this food a try! - Alana GarciaExcellent productThis has been our go to turtle food. We have a red eared slider and I've cycled through several different types of food, from several pet stores. Ultimately we landed on this one and it worked. He has never had an issue eating, he put on weight and his shell cleaned up. Also, it was the best price on Amazon. 5 stars.
- Jas K HandmadeReliable and Nutritious – My Young Turtle Loves It!I’ve been using Zoo Med’s Aquatic Turtle Food Growth Formula for my young turtle, and it’s been a great addition to his diet. The pellets are perfectly sized for juveniles, and they float well on the water, making it easy for my turtle to find and eat them.
What I really appreciate is that it’s formulated specifically for growing turtles, so I feel confident he’s getting the right balance of protein and nutrients for healthy shell and bone development. Since switching to this food, I’ve noticed steady growth, clear eyes, and a more active, alert turtle overall.
Feeding is mess-free, and the water doesn’t get cloudy like it does with some other turtle foods. I usually feed him a small portion once or twice a day, and he eagerly swims up as soon as he sees it. No leftovers, no waste.
If you’re raising a young aquatic turtle and want a reliable, growth-supporting food that they’ll actually enjoy eating, this formula is a solid choice. It’s become a staple in our tank routine! - Jim and YenGood for baby turtle but check.............I should start by saying this "Zoo Med" brand is a good quality food for our Red Eared Slider.
Found the little red eared slider laying upside down in our yard about a month ago and his shell has grown to 54mm wide (2.1"). Its main diet is Zoo Med hatchling formula (1/16" or 1.57mm) which fits in his mouth just right.
As he grows to over 2" we wanted to find the next size food that's right for him.
This Zoo Med "Growth Formula" pellet we just bought is too big for his mouth even though it states it's for turtles 2" and bigger. The label states the pellets are 3/16" (4.79mm) but they are actually bigger. Measured at 6 to 6.5mm which is way to big for the little ones mouth. I gave him one just to see but realized quickly it was too big and could possibly create a choking hazard. Took it out and broke it in half so he could eat it.
I just want buyers to understand that it might be a little to early to feed this to a 2" or so red eared slider turtle and maybe wait until it fits in his mouth... :)
In conclusion it's still good turtle food even though the measurements are not right. For now we'll keep feeding our little red eared slider his "Zoo Med" hatchling formula with occasional treats like blueberries, dried meal worms(yummy) and dried shrimp. :) - debbie wardGood valueIt's by Turtles favorite food and it doesn't smell
- HCGreat Food for Healthy Turtles!I’ve been using this low-protein floating pellet food for my turtles, and it’s been fantastic! It’s perfect for my red-eared slider, and I love that it’s designed for a variety of aquatic turtle species. The lower protein content is ideal for their shell development and overall health. The pellets float well, making it easy for my turtles to eat, and I can see them enjoying it every time.
