- KMNEntertaining and informative! My brother and I found this gem because we are related to Daniel Boone, actually to his sister Hannah and her husband, Daniel's brother-in-law and longhunting sidekick, John Stewart, who died an untimely death while long hunting with Boone. They are our 7th great grandparents.
This is a fascinating story, well told, full of interesting details. Bravo! - Amazon CustomerOutstanding read...Another outstanding book put out by Steve and company...Brody, Dr. Randal, etc. Very interesting read and topic. The fellas definitely put the leg work in when researching the topic. This book was very interesting as well as educational, whether a hunter or not.
- Andrew GrantEasy to followSteve and Clay do a great job storytelling here. The years of podcasting have honed their craft.
I’m already halfway through the Mountain Men and loving that too. - Ashton ColeCan’t Go Wrong with Rinella and NewcombLove these guys. Great stuff.

- DeboraGreat readThis is a great book about meat eater history.
- Deanna I.4 1/2 starsI want this in a physical book format, audio is great, but I prefer the written word!
Also, Clay is great, but I believe the constant back-and-forth between the two narrators dampens the storytelling. Plus Steve is in the upper echelon when it comes to oration, his style is best, imho. - MJP_Vstar_riderVery InterestingVery interesting. I wish it was available in print version.
