- Knoxville customerBEAUTIFUL & HIGH QUALITYI just love Lightomorrow felt bulletin boards! I have 5 of them (36" x 48"): 2 in foliage green, 1 in indigo, 1 in neon orange, and a larger one (36" x 60") in ginger yellow.
(1) Indigo is a beautiful mix of purple fibers--some dark, others medium and light. The colors are not a "flat" color where every fiber is exactly the same. There is a mix of light, medium, & dark hues that blend to produce a more artistically interesting effect.
The lightning in a room affects how the color appears. More light = the color appears lighter & brighter; less light = the color looks deeper & darker.
(2) The materials the boards are made of are high quality. The boards are consistently even all the way across. The beveling one inch from the edge is very precise. There are adhesive strips on the back but I chose to hang my bulletin boards with Command medium wire hooks (2 lb. weight capacity each) and 2" binder clips. The instructions mentioned this option.
(3) In addition to using the Command hooks & binder clips, I placed a 36" x 48" black trifold foam board behind the felt board. I prefer the way this looks---it adds visual definition to the edges. My walls are a beige that looks like coffee with extra cream in it. The felt board is sharper looking with the black foam board showing around it.
(4) The felt is 0.38" thick. The push pins are 0.25" thick. The push pins do NOT go all the way through the felt. Because I sew and will be pinning fabrics, ribbons, bias tapes, etc. to the felt at times, I will use 1 1/8" sewing pins. Although I will not push these sewing pins all the way through the felt, having a foam board backing is a good idea---just in case. I do not want to accidentally damage the walls.
(5) I am using the indigo bulletin board for sewing and card stock hobbies. I saw in other reviews that sewers can use these boards for design planning and that inspired me ????
(6) The felt board is only about 2.8 lbs. With the black foam board clipped behind it and the metal binder clips, that all weighed less than 5 lbs. I used more binder clips that the weight required but I wanted more balance and stability when I hung the felt board up. I will be pinning fabrics, notions, papers, etc. to the board and that will add more weight than just bulletin boards papers.
In order to align the Command hooks well I made a paper ruler guide and temporarily taped it to the wall above where the hooks were to be placed. On the ruler guide, I had marked where the hooks were to be placed. When the hooks were all in place I removed the paper ruler guide.
(7) My apartment has predominantly neutral colors of beige and gray with some black and white in the furniture. Adding colorful bulletin boards livened things up a little.
Professional organizers say to use vertical space when a room is small. The felt bulletin boards are helping me stay more organized and giving me a place to put pieces of my projects that are in progress. They add utility to the walls.
(8) The Command medium wire hooks, the 2" binder clips, and the black trifold foam board can all be found on Amazon in case you may get want to hang the felt board that way.
In the photos is a Seaside Village double-headed LED lamp (15 W, 1800 lumens) that can also be found on Amazon.
I highly recommend Lightomorrow felt bulletin boards. ???? - Mary LynnPerfect in EverywayI love everything about this board! It is the perfect size, and tacks go through it and hold things in place perfectly. Though it arrives folded in half, when opened the fold line disappears. You cannot see it! Mine is held in place with the Velcro it comes with, and it is holding the board perfectly in place on my wall. I only have notes for worked tacked to the board, nothing heavy. It is a nice white and has rounded corners which I love. I can't say enough about this board. Buy one, you won't be disappointed!

The board is thick enough that the pins do not push through the back and it is strong enough to hold my calendar. Did not use adhesive, I hung with a white cord.
