- BOSCOPerfect for elderly parents!Bought this for my 81 year old father - his Michigan driveway gets plowed but not the sidewalk. He just opened it and said he cleared his sidewalk in 3 swipes, it was very light, powerful and easy to use out of the box and really threw snow far. He is tickled pink with his new gadget and I feel good knowing he’s not going to hurt himself shoveling. Great product.

The battery attached easy and locked into place. We had snow today and was still falling a bit so was great time for a try, it was so easy the on button is on the handle and when the trigger is pressed is will run till release it's lightweight yet heavy enough to get the snow flush to the walkway. I love the grip handle it did make it easier to use , im older and I handled this shoveling without back ache, time saved was cut down to 30min to do my walk and driveway and back yard. I say this is a great buy , zero operating issues . Noise level- it was not disruptive the more snow ur going through the louder it was . It thawed out well after ,It was running full power 30mins and have plenty of battery power left when I finished! Great buy
- AdamWorks fairly well for the price point.Works better than I expected would, we recently had a foot of snow fall. Its not rated for snow this deep so its understandable it sometimes stalls, so there is a bit of a technique to get it work if there is a substantial amount of snow. I also have some health issues, so a regular shovel was just not an option for me, if your health hampers your ability to use a normal shovel, this might be a good option for you.
If I had more time to consider my options I would had probably gone with something with more than 24v of power, but for the price and how well it clears the snow I dont really have any complaints. I do wonder how well the shaft will hold up over time though, as a general rule of thumb, I find that aluminum shafts on tools like these dont hold up too well.
I bought this before talking about to a friend who educated me on the difference between an electric shovel and snowblower, so lesson learned I might have gone with something else if I had more time to learn about these types of products by it was a bit of an emergency for me to be able to clear my driveway. - Amazon CustomerNice little unit for moving snow.I shopped around for a powered shovel. I am over 65, not in the best shape, and have had some health issues, so concerned about using a shovel to move snow, especially shoveling and picking it up. I do have gas powered self propelled for the driveway and larger amounts of snow, but use shovel for front door stoop, clean up to shed, to grill, deck and some of the patio areas. Unit arrived, and SO EASY to put together and charge up battery. First snow came (1-3") and was able to use it where i used to use shovel, and it works great and as described, does throw the snow a distance. As others have mentioned, keep the wind direction in mind since it discharges up and away and the wind can take it and blow it on you. Recent late December snows, left piles of drifts, and used it this morning on deck and patio and snow was packed snow, and some drifts from 12-15" high and no problem. Keep in mind it will take alittle longer to get through the drift, but for me, much better and safer than using a shovel. The other areas on the patio and deck, couple inches of snow and works great. Again, for me, faster, easier and safer than using a shovel (just keep an eye on wind direction AND where the snow is getting tossed), and throws the snow a ways away. Battery, I used for 20 minutes or so continuously and still had charge left. Compared to shoveling, I am glad I got it; back saver and less stress on the body then lifting snow for sure.
- RichardIs It Safe to use on a gravel drive way ?This was the biggest questioned I had once the product arrived on time and after reading the owners manual it does mentioned twice not to use it on a gravel drive way . Even though the box and write up on on Amazon say that its safe to use on a gravel drive way . Another part in the owners manual mentions that there is a adjustment you can make to use it on one but doesnt provide any instructions on how to do it . I did go ahead and use it on our drive way which is gravel but packed down in most areas and others parts there is no garvel at all . Use common sense when operating the shovel it does through loose rocks .The chute director were snow is discharged does work great . Dont direct it towards house window ,cars or other people for that reason. Like a snow blower it does spray snow and you will at times get covered with snow dust .
Ease of use it does fairly well at performing like the description says I am in my fifites and I enjoy using it ,my mom also use it as well . It is well designed the weight is about right as well . It is not labor intentsive like a regular snow shovel. The shovel was easy to assemble and well packaged . It will definately handle up to 7 inches of snow would suggest removing it in layers rather than 1 pass.
The last thing to mentioned is the batteries I ordered two extra . The batteries I think are supposed to last up to 45 minutes or so with a full charge this seems to be fairly accurate as well .It is not uncommon to use two batteries for our drive way . At times we have 2 additinal regular snow shovels going as well. The drive way is good sized and can park up to 5 vehicles . I live in New York State.
I would definately reccommend the electric powered snow shovel to those considering purchasing one but the questioned still remains .Thanks for reading the review I hope you find it helpful .
