This should definitely be on your TBR for the holiday season, it is the perfect book to get you in your feels and into the holiday spirit. Tons of holiday activities, competitions, lots of love and Christmas is everywhere. This book was quite literally the spicy Hallmark version of The Grinch and I loved every single page. I literally ate it up! Meghan did an amazing job incorporating The Grinch into the story. The Dr. Seuss-like openings to every chapter were brilliant, it added so much to the Christmas vibe of the book, and they were hilarious!!
OMGG the banter, the angst, the tension, and the CHEMISTRY!! I can’t even begin to put into words the amazingness of this book, of Cole and Storee. I was laughing my rear off the entire time I read this book. The sassy comebacks by Storee, the sarcastic ribbing of Cole, it was entertaining. It felt real, it felt like I was reading about my husband and I. We love to rib on each other, get on each other's nerves just because. I loved how real the characters felt from the way they portrayed themselves, their emotions, their feelings, and how they handled things thrown at them. The way their relationship developed was natural, enemies/rivals to lovers.
The slow burn with the slow heat which Meghan Quinn always does a fabulous job with, was on fire. There was so much tension between Cole and Storee you could feel it through the pages.
Cole and Storee needed each other after, they helped each other overcome their pasts and traumas and find that Christmas Spirit again. I loved watching the growth and development of both characters. And the side characters of the whole town are amazing.
I highly recommend adding this to your holiday TBR list! How My Neighbor Stole Christmas is honestly the perfect holiday read. It’s a festive, laugh out loud, spicy, sweet, and dreamy romance.
The Candy Cane scene did me IN it was ???? (iykyk) ???? - LaurenHow My Neighbor Stole ChristmasThis book is a friends to enemies to lovers in a closed proximity. The story is a quirky cute unique love spin off to How the Grinch Stole Christmas and it is worth the read! It tells about Storee the FMC and her sister going back to their childhood small town they use to visit every Christmas to help their Aunt who just had a hip replacement win a Christmas competition. On the other hand we have Cole who is still grieving the loss of his parents since an early age and just well became a bit grumpy when he lost not only his parents but his childhood friend Storee too.
This book was the perfect light hearted Christmas story. It started off as what seemed like it may not work out between the two leading into something unexpected and beautiful by just simply reliving the memories that were had. The wit between the two main characters is great. I loved the sassiness Storee had and the wit that Cole had for the perfect comebacks to get back at Storee. The sarcasm and genuineness of Atlas(Max) and Cole’s real is just amazing as well. What really tied the book together and really had me cackling out loud at times was the narrator. The sarcasm and wit between him and Cole was hilarious! Every chapter began with the Narrator “talking” just like in the movie which was very different and refreshing. The book was very well written and paced.
I would definitely recommend this book. It is just a fun funny lighthearted read, nothing to serious. Definitely funny in parts of the book and definitely had that love story feel that we all love. I would definitely recommend if you like grinch related things! Overall loved this book and it was a good read! - Audrey-LynnSeasons Read????⭐️⭐️⭐️/????️????️????️
Storeebrooke and Cole “Connor” Black- what to say except how cute and funny their story was. I absolutely loved the twist with the Grinch and the laughs were jolly and eyes were teary. We love and iconic man in lederhosen like we love an iconic women with a heartfelt great aunt. The candy cane scene was a spectacle but definitely not the only one in the book. I had a holly jolly time with this marvelous book- get the joke- haha. ????❄️
With all seriousness this book was very funny and very festive. Had me laughing and smiling throughout. With Cole’s grumpiness and Storee’s terrible comebacks compared to Cole’s, it was an all around joy to read them get cozy(very cozy) around each other. There were some cringey moment where I had to put the book down for a second- laugh it and shake it off and then read more. Max was definitely the star of the show- though he still showed his dog side of his true self, which was a sight to read. The bickering between the narrator and Cole was almost definitely my favorite and a very nice touch. Definitely a bright and shining read for this Christmas season ????????????????
(I have a personal grading system- take my opinion with a grain of salt ????)
