Grim and Oro: Dueling Crowns Edition (A Lightlark Saga Deluxe Companion Book)Top reviews from the United States
- Ranee KimballBeautifully written and designedBeautiful book ! Such a cool idea to have two stories in one and there flip books. One side is one point of view and then you flip the book around and it’s the other persons! Love love love !
- AshleyAmazing!!First off, this is such a beautiful and AWESOME book!! The flipping for different sides and meeting in the middle for the "the end" page, perfect fitting for how the stories converge. I highly recommended reading the Oro side first, no matter which side you stand on.
Secondly, I really enjoyed the 3 other books before this one, but now I am absolutely in love with this series!! It was the perfect filler on some backstory and to also give us something while we wait on Crowntide. I have 2 smaller shelves I display my favorite books on, one of them just got cleared off to make way for Lightlark series. That is the best I can say without hinting about any spoilers! - MeganGrim and Oro⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
For those of you who don’t impulse buy solely based on looks this one is split between Grim and Oro’s stories and gives us a glimpse into their life before Isla and during the first book Lightlark. Did we need this? No, but it has beautiful artwork and swoonworthy moments so I’m happy. ????
Oro:
I really enjoyed reading about Oro before Isla - seeing him meet his friends and get more of a vibe of how he was before everything was cursed. But let’s be honest the best part about this book was seeing how deeply he loves Isla. My heart broke into a million pieces reading his side of things. He is such a good character. ????????
“Find your fire. When I look at her eyes, blazing green with flecks of gold, I think- I’ve found her.”
Grim
I’m telling you right now, there’s no way he’s not endgame. I realize the memory wiping was a horrible decision but he loves every part of her completely. The infinity line hurts SO much understanding Grim’s relationship with his sister and seeing everything play out….you knew it was bad, but dang. ????All I will say, is I think this side made me love him a little more.
“I want everything with you, Hearteater. I want marriage, I want children, I want to be standing next to you, holding your hand, at the end of the world.” “I want to live endless lifetimes with you, because one isn’t enough. Not for me. Not even close. If we live a thousand years - I’ll want a million more. I’m selfish, I’m greedy, I want you for endless eternities. We are infinite: everything, everywhere, at the same time. And I want everything.” - EthanGorgeousI’ve read the other Lightlark books and this edition just made me fall even deeper into the series. The art and the quality are crazy good in person. Oro and Grim look stunning and the story pulled me right back in like always. Every time I finish one of these books I just end up wanting more. If you’re into fantasy with drama and beautiful worldbuilding, this set is totally worth it.
- Sylvia RobbinsPretty but misleading.Based on the listing photos were misleading, I was expecting this to be two books not one. Beautifully printed which makes this a little less upsetting.
- Amazon CustomerA Must-Have for Lovers of Pretty BooksAbsolutely stunning! The design, artwork, and quality are all top-notch. A must-order for anyone who loves pretty books or collects special editions.
- Simply DeiThe Book I Didn’t Know I Needed.Reading bonus chapters with Grim’s POV throughout the saga was good but to have an entire book (well, half of it) from his POV… TAKE. MY. MONEY.
Grim’s character is very complex in my opinion. His upbringing is so heartbreaking it really does help you understand him more. And the burning love and complete devotion he feels for Isla. He is willing to burn the world for her. To be the villain for her. You can see how he loves her the only way he knows how and that’s… ugh, yes! I am this close????????to read it again just to mark it with a pen and tons of stickies because the things that comes out of this mans mouth… they should be marked.
Oro, i love him. He is sweet and kind. His upbringing was a little painful too. Still, totally different from Grim. On his side of the story you can definitely see how they went from enemies-to-lovers. The way he fought so hard his feeling’s for her only to fall head over heels.
What happens to him is really unfair. I hope he gets a good ending.
In my opinion, you should start with Oro’s side, since the series starts with him. Or if you are starting the saga or thinking about re-reading it (like me????) you could do: Lightlark, Oro’s POV, Nightbane, Grim’s POV and, Skyshade.
The book: Listen, books now days are a work of art and this one is no exception. I thought it was 2 books and it kinda is… a 2 in 1. You have to flip them to get each side. The art is absolutely beautiful. The edges are gorgeous. I can’t wait to have the entire collection. - kylieGreat quality bookI loved it I thought it was a really fun addition to the series and loved having novellas from Grim and Oros POV. It’s a beautiful book with beautiful artwork. #teamGrim
