I've used other types of coasters and am always underwhelmed - most either don't absorb condensation drips, forcing water to run off onto the table instead of protecting it, or they'll absorb too much, so that the water seeps through the bottom of the coaster, again defeating the purpose.
In addition to being easy on the eyes, these coasters are both sustainable (if they're 100% wool, as listed) and functional. Most of the time, they absorb a good amount of condensation and I haven't seen them soak through once yet. They're a little thicker than some other coasters, but I haven't found that to be an issue since they are flat.
The one caution I have is that sometimes when they get wet they stick to the bottom of the glass. This can sometimes cause them to create a near-spill situation if I'm not extra careful in raising and lowering a glass - especially while writing Amazon reviews or catching up on my favorite shows. They do also stain like regular fabric if you spill something, and I haven't yet tried spot cleaning them, so we'll see how that goes. - kathy gilmourClassic well made coastersI love these Coasters. I bought them to go in our living room after deciding I wanted something a little more classic. They are of good quality and the colors are true to the picture. I like that they absorb water and do not stick to the bottom of the glass. They are also quiet. They make a great housewarming gift.
