- David W.A good set of vacuum sealing containers that work well for food prep and left oversI bought this kit and then another pack of the containers. It is certainly not cheap with the cordless vacuum pump, but after using them for various food prep activities, I have been quite pleased.
For wet dishes, they work very well. You just need to make sure the sealing area is clean. Releasing the vaccuum is easy, and the vacuum pump is automatic. You sit it on the container with the vacuum valve fully seated closed, and hit the button. It vacuums down and stops when it achieves the proper vacuum. I've had containers hold a vacuum for over a week which was better than I expected.
I tried using it to store fresh ground coffee. In this case, I found it doesn't work as well. When releasing the vacuum, it would blow the fresh grounds up into the seal and it became more trouble than it's worth. I switched back to a more basic vacuum container with a hand pump as it's easier to feather the vacuum release on that older container I have. Otherwise, I've been very pleased with these. The only difficult part is cleaning the seal after removing it. That's true of trying to clean most container seals.
I'd say value for money was pushing the edge of what I think is acceptable. I would have preferred these were priced a bit more modestly, but if they hold up for a few years I'll be quite happy. For now, I'm going to give it a 5 rating, but if I start having sealing issues, I'll update this review. Thus far I've been using them for 3-4 weeks without any issues.
Update: I left two of the containers in the fridge with some leftovers in them for a week untouched. I removed them after 7 days and both still held a vacuum within. One thing to note is you must ensure the sealing surface or the top of each container (5/8" or so) is perfectly clean. Any amount of contaminates on the sealing surface will result in a leak. I have also tried the matching vacuum resealable bags. Three of them have worked great, but one did develop a leak that wasn't at the sealing strip. It was like a seam of the bag or pinhole developed in the bag with limited use. I do like the bags because they have the plastic disc which keeps the bag sealing surface for the vacuum pump flat which is something I had issues with on Food Saver OEM bags back in the day. Overall, still very pleased with this and the extra set I purchased. - Kathryn ArmstrongCompact, easy use and Good QualityChef Preserve Compact Vacuum Sealer for Food - This is the BEST kitchen gadget I have ever used. My produce stays much more fresh, crisp and keeps its color. Although a bit costly, it is well worth it. I sincerely recommend this product for it saves money from premature rotting of food items. I will purchase as gifts to family members. Chef Preserve Compact Vaccum Sealer is a time saver as well. You do not have to put together a large food saver. This one fits in the utensil drawer very easily. - Cat-UQuality product as describedThis product was shipped with such care it shows the producer cares. It worked like advertised. I am very pleased with it. I've had a vacuum seal for years but this one fits in a drawer and is so easy to use. I also like being able to reuse the bags. I highly recommend it.

- WandaEasy and ConvenientJust a great little device. I am single and it saves my cut veggies and keeps them fresh. Also when I buy meat with several pieces I always split them up on single servings. I lay them out on a cookie sheet and freeze them as individual servings. They go into the the Chef Preserve Bags and are sealed. When I want to prepare something, I have a single serve, take out what I need and seal it back.Very convenient and easy to store for quick access. I keep plenty of bags in the different sizes.
- John KinderPerfect gift (to yourself!)Best product EVER! Charge before using! Keep o charged you will use it for everything. Use the little white seal clips to ensure seal. Make sure bag is laying flat. Take the bottom part off, put it over the white disc on the bag. No need to press. Device goes off when air is out.
Put celery sticks, carrot sticks, any veg. Open as desired and reseal. I cut a very ripe avocado in half still beautiful but it lasted 7 days before I noticed the slightest change.
On one Chef Preserve video a woman put the bags in her dishwasher. - Janelle W.Don't hesitate, buy it!I love this thing!! So easy to use the bags are easy to clean and it comes with a little clip thing that makes sealing the bags so easy!! The glass containers are very nice but much smaller than expected but keeps my blueberries and raspberries fresher longer.. if you like to separate your meats or anything for the freezer get them you won't be disappointed!! Its so small, easy to store and use!
