- Jane JetsonGreat for a Starter Hand Sewing Kit!Purchased this to be part of a starter (first apartment) hand sewing kit. The wide array of colors is great---just the thing when a button falls off or a skirt needs the hem fixed (when Mom isn't there to help). The amounts of thread are fine for the hand sewing project--but probably not enough for most sewing machine uses. Suggest using a rubber band to keep the box securely closed. It shuts well--but it might come open and spill if you pick it up absentmindedly (I would NEVER be so careless, mind you--ha-ha.) The needles and threader are taped inside the lid--don't miss them. If you are building a sewing kit, you might want to supplement this with a large (standard) spool of Black polyester thread and one in White. Anyway--this is just what I needed. Good value for the price; perfect size for my use.

The variety of colors is really nice, every color I can think of is in the nice plastic storage box. Great value for the price. Comes with a few needles and a threader, perfect for small projects, or just to have a around for fixing things.
