- StacyCorgiLadyGreat quality & a Great deal.Bought this player after I purchased a different one that sucked. This one is GREAT. It looks beautiful and the sound quality is great. You can even use bluetooth with it. It works well and the quality is such a step up form the last one, which I returned immediately. This one has a prominent place in our dining room. Love it.
- Amazon CustomerNice little player.Good sound for a simple player. Easy to use.
Looks good. I’m happy with my purchase. - R & WPretty good for the price, but probably needs external amp/speakersOk, this is actually a pretty decent little unit for the money. I was seriously contemplating returning it because it sounded like it was skipping A LOT and/or the audio was cutting out (especially on quiet passages). I read through the reviews and saw that many people were complaining about the same thing, and when they contacted the company they were told that they should tape a light weight on top of the needle arm, like a penny (this was a common trick back when I was younger - 60's-70's when you didn't have an adjustment to increase the needle pressure). Many people said that it didn't work though. I have a professional audio background, and I felt like what I was hearing was maybe a cheap electronic circuit that was made to keep the small internal speakers from being overloaded and blowing them out - some kind of a dynamics controller like a compressor/limiter/gate device. So today I hooked up the external outputs on the back of the turntable enclosure to our entertainment system and it's speakers, and just turned down the volume knob on the turntable itself. WOW!! It works great now!!! I played about 6 or 7 albums - No skipping or volume dipping (except on the beginning of one of my old mid 70's records that was a little warped and I could actually see some gunk on it) and it sounds quite good (especially for what it is). So that's the deal - some sort of wonky electronics between the turntable and it's internal speakers. Not really very listenable without some external speaker system, but pretty decent otherwise. First time in decades that I've heard some of these albums on a turntable. I'll be keeping it.
- M.D.KGood for the price!I purchased this product for my daughter whom had lost most of her possessions in a move. We wanted to replace her record player but didn't want to spend a ton of money. The reviews were ok so we decided to drop the 50 dollars for this player. The color is super vibrant. The player itself is a pretty good. It has blue tooth capability. Which is pretty great. The sound through the speakers is fine for what it is. It is not the best player but for the money it works well. We can hear it fairly well in the bedroom. The packaging was TERRIBLE. They just shipped in the original box, I would of liked to have seen it packaged a bit better with some wrap around it inside another box. I didn't expect it to work to be honest. The box looked beat up a bit. But in the end it works and over all happy with the product.
I give this a 4 Star.
* 1 star (Nope, DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL!): I would either return or throw away this product. It was a waste of my money and not functional. I will never order again.
** 2 star (Think twice before buying - don't like it): I'm not a fan of this item and I won't order it again, but it has at least one positive quality.
*** 3 star (It’s ok): This item has both positive and negative qualities. It may work for some people, but I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase or recommend it.
**** 4 star (I like it): This item arrived and functions as advertised. I would change a few things about this (including pricing), but is a good product overall. I would use this item.
***** 5 star (I love it!): This item is AWESOME. I will use it and recommend it to others! I just LOVE it! It works as advertised and is an all-around great product.
All of my reviews are written with the hope of helping other Amazon customers make the right buying decisions for themselves. To help increase awareness of a particular product it might be positive or negative, but in the end it is honest. Thank you for reading my review. I hope it has helped you. I will be happy to answer any questions if that might help you make your decision. Have a great day. - Alyssa BrigiottaA Journey I Definitely Didn’t Sign Up ForI bought the Victrola Journey Record Player a year ago along with a stack of records I hand-picked like I was building a tiny museum of my favorite music. I placed each vinyl with the gentleness of a Disney princess handling a fragile woodland creature. I watched the tutorials. I replaced the needle. I put in effort.
And this record player said, “Cute. Now let me absolutely remix your life.”
Every. Single. Record? Scratched.
Every song? Skipped like it was dodging responsibilities.
Every listening attempt? Turned into cardio.
This thing scratched my vinyl like it was auditioning for a DJ residency in Ibiza. It committed so hard to the DJ lifestyle that I half expected it to ask me for a wristband and a glitter crop top. Too bad I never wanted to be a DJ, Victrola believed in a dream I didn’t even have.
BUT it’s okay! Truly. Because whenever I buy CDs from local bands, I never have anywhere cute to put them. And THAT is where this little device redeemed itself. It is, without question, the cutest and most hardworking CD holder I have ever owned. A stunning piece of décor. A loyal little storage unit. Completely useless for vinyl, but absolutely thriving as furniture.
So yes, I’m giving it five glowing stars:
⭐️ For its commitment to the Ibiza DJ aesthetic.
⭐️ For turning my records into percussion instruments.
⭐️ For keeping me humble.
⭐️ For looking adorable.
⭐️ And one extra star for being an excellent CD perch.
Victrola, whenever you start making CD players, DM me immediately. I want first dibs on whatever chaos you create next.
