- MtalekarReliable Wood Repair in a Handy Tube—Great for Quick Fixes Indoors or OutI picked up the Gorilla All Purpose Wood Filler (6 oz, Natural Color) to patch up some small gouges in my outdoor deck and a few dents in indoor trim. It’s been a solid performer across both jobs.
✅ Pros:
Water Resistant: Held up well on my outdoor repairs—even after a few rainy days, no swelling or cracking.
Smooth Application: The filler spreads easily and doesn’t clump, making it beginner-friendly.
Fast Drying: Sets quickly, which is great when you’re trying to knock out a project in one afternoon.
Paintable & Sandable: Once dry, it sands down nicely and takes paint without any weird texture issues.
Natural Color: The neutral tone blends well with most wood types if you’re not painting over it.
⚠️ Cons:
Small Tube Size: The 6 oz tube is fine for touch-ups, but you’ll need more for larger repairs.
Nozzle very hard to press
Dry time- Takes atleast 24 hours to dry completely
Thick Consistency: While it fills gaps well, it can be a bit stiff to squeeze out—especially in cooler temps.
Nozzle Control: The tube tip could use a finer point for precision work on narrow cracks or trim.
???? Bottom Line: A dependable wood filler for everyday fixes. Whether you're patching up furniture, trim, or outdoor surfaces, this tube delivers solid results with minimal fuss. Just keep in mind the size if you’ve got a bigger job ahead. - Bronzon YslasBetter than drywall caulk!!!I love this product more than I love drywall caulk.
Not only does this product come in various colors, but I believe after it is applied and dries, it makes a stronger surface to work with than drywall caulk.
When applying it, it is a thick dry paste, because it is a paste with visible grainy ingredients. It is very dry, but with a little water, even just applied to your fingertips, you can easily mold this paste into any shape that your trying to apply it to. Fill holes, fill chips and gouges, fill separated corners, fill the gap of anything especially old houses that settle and adjust and get used and instead of replacing a full wood fixture, just fill in the gap, unless you got a remodel budget.
The more water you mix with the paste the more playable the paste becomes, but it doesn't take much water to get the affect you want, playable, adhesive, and moldable. - Mark, MNSeemed a little dry.Would be a good product, however, it was somewhat hard to get out of the tube & seemed a little dry, making it harder to work with.
- OnahunchGorilla Nailed It !This stuff is a lifesaver! I’ve used a lot of wood fillers over the years, but Gorilla All Purpose Wood Filler has become my absolute go-to for repairs, touch-ups, and refinishing work. The natural color blends beautifully, and the performance is top-notch, just what you’d expect from the Gorilla brand. The filler comes out of the tube easily and spreads like butter. Whether you’re filling nail holes, dents, or deeper gouges, it applies evenly with no crumbling or mess. It dries quickly (usually within 15-30 minutes depending on the depth), which keeps projects moving along without unnecessary delays. Once dry, it sands smooth without clogging the sandpaper or flaking. It finishes flush with the wood, leaving behind an almost invisible. It takes paint and stain very well, no weird discoloration or rejection. With a bit of sanding and blending, the repair becomes practically undetectable.
The neutral tone is perfect for blending with most unfinished or lightly stained woods. If you’re not staining afterward, it still looks great.
I’ve used it on furniture restoration (dresser drawer corners, chipped table legs), wall trim and baseboards, door frames and window sills
It’s held up indoors and outdoors with no issues. I Highly recommended, I’ll definitely be buying more! - CAnother Great Gorilla Product!Very good wood filler. I needed this for a recent project and got the Darker version, since I'm working with walnut.
It's easy to use, although it does need some pressure to get it out of the tube. You can snip more off the pointy dispenser part of the tube, if needed. This has some grit to it, probably because it helps the product grab on and stay put. I'm just assuming this. Just give it the proper drying time and sand off the excess. It sands flat and you honestly can't really see it, at least on my project. I primed and painted over the who thing and you simply can't see where I put this.
I can't comment on the durability, but since I pained over it, I know I will have no issues whatsoever.
Overall, I like Gorilla products and have high confidence in this. - RickNot suitable for gaps or larger holeWorks ok if filling just nail holes, but when trying to fill deep the consistency is an issue. Flows like a heavy dough out of the tube and rather stick to itself than the wood. So trying to reach into an area of a gap or large hole (quarter size) just did not work
- Mauriel KEasy to useThis was easy to work with and dried quickly. I used a putty knife to make sure it got all the way in the crevice and then wiped it off around the edges with a warm rag. I was able to use wood markers to get the color closer to the color of my floor. The adhesive held the color well. So far it's working!
